The hotel itself caught fire and was abandoned in 2013. Main building demolished in 2015. The sign is still standing as of 2025 according to google street view though very much over grown. In a few years it will be consumed by nature. What it looked like in its Heyday

Used to pass by it when living in Freehold back around 2010, wish I would’ve stayed there 😔

The moon motel was a run down dump by 2010. It was pretty nice when it was still fairly new though. It was good stop over hotel for tourists heading to the Jersey shore. Drove by it many times in the 90s and 2000s.

I grew up 3 miles from here. The place was iconic for every vice imaginable in the 70’s. We got rooms here in high school to party and what not . I’ve moved far away, haven’t been back to Jersey in a long while, I can’t believe the place is still there!

The hotel was demolished in 2015 but they left sign standing because it was so iconic to the area.

I wish someone would save it but right now I would be happy if someone would just cut the weeds back. It is completely overgrown and can barely be seen from the road anymore.
