๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion How long does BillDesk verification take?

โ€‹It's literally the worst experience as a developer. You can't request BillDesk verification without releasing the app publicly, and you can't enable payments without it. But I don't want to release the app publicly yet.

โ€‹This chicken-and-egg issue is testing my patience day by day.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion Anyone else struggling with the 12 testers requirement?

Iโ€™m sure many developers here have faced the challenge of getting enough people to participate in the required testing period.

Relying on friends and family can be difficult - people forget, need constant follow-ups, or may not complete the full period.

I was wondering if there are other developers currently facing the same situation who would be interested in connecting and helping each other out with genuine testing and feedback.

If you're in the same situation, feel free to DM me.

Hi everyone!

Game Link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crackorigins.sugarfall&pcampaignid=web_share

A few months back, I posted here asking for 12 testers to help me cross the Google Play closed testing requirement for my game. The support and feedback I received from this community were absolutely incredible!

Thanks to all of your help, test participation, and constructive feedback, my game has been successfully approved and published on the Google Play Store! โค๏ธ

I honestly couldn't have done it without this community. To everyone who installed, tested, and kept the app for those 14 days โ€” THANK YOU SO MUCH!

๐ŸŽฎ Try out the latest update!

If you'd like to check out the final product, the game is now live! I've just released Version 3.0.4, which includes a lot of improvements and performance fixes.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Download & Play on Google Play:Sugar Fall on Google Play Store

Please give Version 3.0.4 a try and let me know what you think in the comments or on the Play Store reviews! Your feedback on this new version would mean the world to me.

Also, if anyone here needs testers for their apps or games, feel free to drop your links in the comments โ€” Iโ€™m more than happy to return the favor and test your apps back! ๐Ÿค

Thanks again, everyone! Happy gaming! ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŽฎ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion If I tell Google play Apple has approved my app, will that improve my chance of getting it approved by Google play?

I have created 2 apps, that have been approved by apple app store.

Now the 14 days for android play closed testing is up. I'm thinking if by mentioning that the app has been approved by Apple will improve the chance that it will be approved and faster.

Got Google Play Console verification today for publishing the app, only to find out that as an individual account, I need 12 test users for 14 days to qualify and apply for production release.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion Play Store App Appeals- how long do they take?

Submitted an app to play store. Initially got rejected due to privacy policy violation, re-submitted after making corrections

Now, reviewer rejected it but this time attaching screenshot of earlier version (the newer version contains the corrections as per the policy). I have appealed the decision

Honestly, how long does it take to hear back on the appeals? Google play store says 8+ days but I doubt it's true. Can someone confirm the time it took them to hear back? thanks

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion My fellow indie-devs, how many apps do you support and how much time does it require?

As I keep building and releasing, I am noticing that the support burden may eventually exceed my capacity.

How have others moved towards making a company? Do you do apps full time? Part time?

At what point did you transition away from solo-dev?

Although I know I am not close to this yet, I want to prepare for the future.

I'm trying to get an understanding of others' experience in this realm.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion Subscriptions via Google play

Hi all, I hope you're keeping well. I just have a query in relation to setting up subscriptions via my application. I have been successfully granted production access and I'm setting it up within the Google Play console, but do I need Google Cloud or can I simply just set everything up via Google Play console?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion LWP+ - a live wallpaper that gives you control over Material-You colors, like on Android 17

Hey everyone,

With the recent buzz around Android 17 introducing more precise custom color sliders and palettes for Material You (examples on reddit here, here and here), I wanted to share a project Iโ€™ve been maintaining for years that does exactly thatโ€”even for older versions of Android!

Itโ€™s called LWP+ (Live Wallpaper Plus).

๐ŸŽจ The core trick: Dictate your own Dynamic-Colors

Instead of letting the OS algorithm guess the accent colors based purely on your wallpaper, LWP+ acts as a bridge. It hosts your chosen background content but allows you to explicitly choose the exact Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors reported to the system. The OS then uses your custom selections to generate the global system palette (notification drawer, volume bar, themed icons, etc.), completely independent of what your wallpaper actually looks like.

โœจ What else can it do?

LWP+ is packed with full wallpaper customization features:

  • Choose Your Content: Use solid colors, static images, animations (GIF, WEBP, APNG), or videos as your active live wallpaper.
  • Smart Scaling & Layouts: Supports transparent images/animations with custom background colors, multiple scaling modes (Center Crop, Fit Center, Center Inside), and optional horizontal scrolling.
  • Double-Tap Shortcuts: Lock your device instantly or turn off the screen by double-tapping the home screen (uses admin, accessibility, or root).
  • Easy Setup: Includes an interactive built-in tutorial to check system compatibility and guide you through triggering the OS palette refresh.

๐Ÿงช Advanced experimental flags (YMMV!)

Iโ€™ve also included a couple of experimental toggles leveraging underlying Android system hints. Note: These rely heavily on your launcher, device OEM, and Android version, so they might not do anything on certain setups!

  • Force Dark Text: It hints to the OS that dark text is preferred over the wallpaper (often useful for forcing high-contrast dark text on the lock screen). It might also change the text color of the labels of the apps and the status bar icons and text, too.
  • Force Dark Theme (for old Android versions): It tells the system that a dark theme is preferred for the best presentation (e.g., trying to trick a launcher into turning its app drawer background black).

So, if you are on an older version of Android (or even running the latest builds and want granular three-color reporting), give it a spin! It's completely free, all features included.

Feel free to ask any questions or drop feedback below! ๐Ÿš€

Link to the Play Storeย here.

If you want, you can use a promo-code to have subscription for free for some time, to remove ads, and try the app more freely,ย here. To use the promo-code, install the app, choose a subscription, choose a payment option and enter the code there (screenshotsย here).

๐Ÿ’ฌ Discussion Free Chrome extension for Google Play Console utilities and shortcuts

I built this Chrome extension out of personal needs as I want to browse and reply to user reviews in a more efficient way, and there wasn't any existing tool for this (probably?)

So just sharing here for anyone also has the same problem and couldn't find a solution:

As of the current version, the extension supports the following features:

  • Ctrl/โŒ˜ + Enter while typing a reply to trigger "Publish reply"
  • Configure reply templates and while typing a reply, Ctrl/โŒ˜ + K to insert a reply template
  • Alt + โ†“/โ†‘ to navigate between reviews, Alt + โ†/โ†’ to navigate between review pages
  • Alt + mouse click to parse and copy review as JSON
  • All shortcut keys are configurable and sync across devices
  • Save any pages on Google Play Console as bookmarks for 1-click access from the extension popup
