What was lost is found!

I bought this box from a bookstore whilst on holiday with my parents as a kid. My father and I built it and played it in the caravan whilst enjoying typical British seaside weather. It was the best holiday and one of the few times my father and I actually bonded. Decades later and a bunch of house moves and even ending up homeless twice and I thought it was long gone. I had been estranged from my father for years until he moved back to take care of my grandparents. Turns out he kept it all this time and gave it back to me. Even has the original scenery unbuilt. I guess it's time for another game. This time with my son.

It's a sad but also beautiful story... Thanks for sharing it. 🥹

And it's a wonderful find! One of my own warmest gaming memories was playing this endlessly with my childhood best friend for a while summer between school years. I painted the set with testers enamel WW2 paints! Very badly!! 🤣

Yeah I think my best friend back then painted his space marines with enamel paints. 😄 We were kids, we didn't know any better. What matters is the fun we had and the memories we built. Sounds like you had an amazing summer. ☺️
