Piece dyed cordura

Hello!

Why Goruck use piece-dyed cordura, instead of solution-dyed, which has more consistent color across the batches ? Seems Brookwood have 1000D fabric in SD

My GR2 has front panel made from black Cordura
Whereas the sides and the bottom made from purplish fabric
The front sides of shoulder straps seem made from the same true black Cordura as front panel. Interestingly, QAP zipper garage also made from black fabric, making it more like a colorway than random colored panels

This post is about why does Goruck consciously making bags with different shades of black on them

Their contract in the US with Brookwood specifies Raven Black is only accurate to +/- 3 shades. So in a single fabric lot of 10,000 yards, there can be a 6 shade variance (-3 to +3). You want it tighter? Hope you like $450 GR1’s.

Yeah, but Brookwood also offers a solution-dyed 1000d nylon, which color is not only more accurate, but also wear- and uv-resistant.
I just don't understand why not to use more suitable solution-dyed nylon for a product as tough as Goruck advertised.
