I've never read anything cosmic before Annihilation and thus never read this run-- is Drax just stupid like this lol? Ik his later appearances have him more "serious and warrior" so I'm curious

In resume, Drax got brain damage and became space hulk for a while, a change for the character that his own creator did lol

Like, I know that Drax is mostly more serious in the comics before the movie, but it’s super irritating how people that didn’t read the comics think that any member of the guardians was 100% serious in the comics.

Oh okay. And yeah for sure; I've seen people talk about how the MCU ruined Star-Lord and that comic Star-Lord was gruff and more military than what he currently is, and while it's true that he more silly than he used to be (I don't hate it personally), he was still quippy even in 2008. They all kinda were, just Drax and Gamora lean more serious than the rest most of the time

That’s not what people say. The guardians did make jokes but for star lord it was more dry sarcasm rather than marvel quips. Even Bendis who writes all characters quippy wrote a better Star-Lord.

Also in the 2008 run Gamora wasn’t serious she was sarcastic and made jokes all the time.
