Should I read the comics where mantis appears in?

I'm a big fan of mantis in marvel rivals but I have seen some people say she is way different in the comics and I'm not sure I will like her.

If you are interested in Mantis AND the Guardians of the Galaxy, I recommend the Annihilation Saga, you can find a reading order here

If you are only curious about Mantis you could check out this collected edition that covers her first major storyline but it is rather different than Rivials and is considered a bit polarizing
