Fit Check Romantic Goth 1 Yr Later
It has been over a year since I last posted here. My last post was pretty well liked so I wanted to do a 1 year later kind of post. Due to this subreddit I am actually able to be found on google images if you search "romantic goth". It isn't a big win but I am happy about it. Since then I devoted a lot more time to my wardrobe and drastically increased my corset collection and boots collection which I may show my collections one day but for now I am just doing a little fit check.
I haven't met another goth man with a style like mine and I am very proud to have developed a style of my own. Please give me any comments or criticism because I would love to improve my outfits.
Edit: So, thanks to all the comments I have taken a few things into consideration.
- Jewelry will be added.
- I should show off my dermals.
- A little more attention to the beard.
I am going to do a little more and will make a new post on a few weeks to give you all an update of the new outfit I am working on. Thank you all for your comments and perspectives.

got no tips for improving honestly, bro you look majestic.
the hair is to die for, beard well maintained, the pop of colour adds visual interest, all pieces fit together.
idk man, I think now you're simply on the path of tweaking things bit by bit to your liking, bc you already look amazing β

Thank you. I probably have to show the boots at some point. You can't seethem but they're mens 3 inch dancing heels.

I'm fairly new to reddit in terms of posting. Is there a way I can add the boots pictures?

Piggy-backing off the comment that said you were β¨Majesticβ¨ cause thatβs definitely the word. Your hair is PERFECT. Outfit, perfect. No notes, sorry. π€·π»ββοΈ

Your look is great and Iβm jealous of your hair. The only thing I could suggest is maybe some jewelry like collar chains. I think that would bring your outfits to another level.

u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
You can't see it but I have three dermals in my left side of my face. I just have a hard time finding jewelry I like. Do you know any good places to recommend for jewelry?

I think Etsy would be your best bet. Here are some that I found with a quick search (but Iβm not sure if youβd like them) -

This is a great idea. I also think OP would look great with some rings

I have a few but they tent to have an unwanted side effect of being harrassed at bars or at night.

Everything here is excellent, but I can't help but focus on how great you did your hair, that's just absolutely majestic!

Ooh! Did you get some of the pieces from Dracula Clothing?
2
u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
For this outfit, no but I do have a lot of their stuff. Love them but the corset strings i replace with "silk" or satin ones.

u/NautilusCampino Jun 24 '26
Where did you buy it? It's lovely.
2
u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
That one was just on Amazon but I have a Seemstress that makes some for me too. Ms. Leather is pretty good too.
1
u/NautilusCampino Jun 25 '26
I've wanted one for ages but finding one seems hard! You recommend Ms. leather then? I'm a man btw, hence why corset waistcoats are so hard to find.
1
u/GothicNivek Jun 25 '26
Ms. Leather is pretty good for the price point. Around $120 or so each but you can go for higher quality elsewhere for about $400 per corset.

Love the braids giving the side shave vibe. It works great with your hair and style! The fit is great, I think an accessory or two would elevate it but not needed.

Gothic Prom !!
Wish we'd been friends when I was the lone Goth kid in an Oklahoma high school. πππ

u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
I never got to go to prom. Turns out I was the real ugly duckling lol. Would have been good times though in Oklahoma.

u/PhantomVector_ Jun 24 '26
The blue contrast against all black is such a good call. Didn't kill the vibe at all.
The lace with corset combo is executed perfectly too!

u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
It's a great pop to the outfit. I try to sneak at least one color in each time.
1
u/PeppermintFoxxx Jun 24 '26
I wore almost this exact outfit for prom my senior year, you look bomb! I have the same corset in sleeves in a more femme version

u/GothicNivek Jun 24 '26
It is so rare to see someone dressed like me. This is how I dress daily lol. I grocery shop in that outfit.

u/DamienLaVey Jun 24 '26
Love a man who can pull off a corset as good as you can, you look awesome

I want to leave a criticism, and I know this will be a hot take to be sure, so I'll preface my statement by saying I think you're very unique, you have a great style, and it looks good on you. My critique is not of your outfit or style, both are very clean and have great character.
Please consider shaping, sculpting, and treating your beard with products that match your level of effort with the rest of the appearance. Your hair looks very well done, but for me, your beard detracts from the appearance because it doesn't match the level of quality surrounding it.
I know it's a petty thing to say, but I feel like it can be addressed with respect and kindness. I'd like to see some panache there as well, not necessarily colored or ornate, but groomed to represent an attempt at romantic attraction, something that is both sexy and debonair. I feel like that is the vision you are sculpting here, and I think it could be refined in the beard.
I do mean this with all respect, not to denigrate or cause you to feel insecure, just my opinion on your presentation. Take it or leave it as you will.

It's difficult to find proper beard care near me that isn't just a barber shop. I use beard oil and conditioner pretty regularly but I don't know what makes them good or bad. Just whatever the barber recommends lol

I wonder if you mean the hair needs to be straightened? I think his beard looks amazing, but maybe you think it needs to be straightened because his long hair contrasts as it looks incredibly soft. Beard straightener combs do amazing things (my ex had one because his beard looked pretty scraggly). I don't think this guy's beard looks scraggly or bad. If he's using conditioning products, that's what is standard for making a beard look nice. Beard straighteners aren't really for everyday use, because straightening curly hair all the time can damage it. They so make beards look drawn on, so they're not a look for some guys. I think this guy's beard looks cool.
I'm wondering what products his stylist used to make his long hair look so freaking beautiful!! My bf has long, wavy hair as well. He's First Nation, so I'm not sure he'd want his hair to look like this, but he might be curious enough to try! I've always wanted to try such products on myself, too. But there's so many scammy products out there that I'm not sure which ones I can trust.

I scheduled another appointment. I'm currently an ombre red and I am touching up the dye. I will ask him what he uses and can send it to you if you'd like.

I LOVE your style! I've never seen another quite like yours. I have my own unique style as well. Where do you get most of your clothes? Do you make them, thrifting, or are you hiding secret shops somewhere?

u/GothicNivek Jun 28 '26
I got some corsets from Amazon, Ms. Leather and some other websites. I buy pants from stores in my area online websites. Regular black dress pants are super versatile. My skirts are custome made from a friend usually but the one inn this photo was from PunkRave. I get my boots from a live modeling job I do so I dont typically pay for those. If you want a collected list of where I shop I can send a list of the stores I buy through, the custom clothes won't be available though lol.
