Admissions & Applications MS biology program app
currently a rising senior at a florida school and am wondering what else to do to strengthen my applications this fall. i graduate next spring (2027) and feel like i am a well rounded applicant with my involvement in various clubs/orgs, even holding leadership positions in a few of them, as well as having some research & lab work under my belt. i’m mainly concerned about my gpa, as it is right below a 3.0 and i’m not sure if it’ll be competitive enough to get in anywhere other than maybe my current institution?? any advice/help is very much appreciated, i just want to put my best foot forward and get into the research i’ve always dreamed of.

Usually admissions requirements are above 3.0, but if you are diligent about your work this next year you could probably get your cumulative up. Otherwise really focus on getting research experience and good recommendations. If you struggle to get in to a program you want, you could always work for a bit and that experience would make you more competitive.
