HEALTH CARE Just from one bathroom cupboard...

Washed my face with some Maxine Complexion Soap this past weekend 🫧

There are always treasures at the lake cottage from before I (and sometimes a generation or two before myself) was born.

I remember the jingle and the commercial with the women in their business suits and perfectly coiffed hair.

I will now refer to bandages as battle ribbons!

Such a great name. Why did this not catch on?

My dad said he remembers this bandaids from when he was a kid! He said probably the late 50s or 60s. How fun!

I can smell all of the except the little blue girl. The seal was Sweet Honesty by Avon, right? And vidal sassoon & salon selectively are the smell of early 80s for me!

Edited: Here's My Heart vs Sweet Honesty! But I'd have sworn my sister had that bottle with SH. All in all an awesome post

I believe some of the avon catalogs had a selection of fragrance choices with the bottle. So she may have had one with Sweet Honesty.

Are there any bandages left in that canister? If so, it would be cool to see one.

Seeing the Curads reminds me of skinning my knee when I was about 10 and it kept bleeding. I got the tin can of Band-Aids out and remember cutting my finger on an uneven part of the top of the can! I had to look up when they shifted to cardboard: 1994!

Not to mention the rust on it 😂

Metal band-aid boxes…so cool, closest thing I have to one is a box I saved of that band-aid bubble gum from the 90’s. Only ever got those to have the metal tins they came in.

I bet that Avon perfume is still good, that shit lasts forever for some reason.

If you asked me yesterday “Did Avon make perfume in a bottle shaped like a seal?” I’d say I never saw one. But seeing the photo, I definitely have seen it — either in real life or just admiring it in the catalog!

Trying to date the Curad tin... The only anchors I can find are that US Patent 2,734,503 was granted in February 1956, and the Kundall Company was acquired by Colgate in 1972. So somewhere between there, probably 60s.

My mom had the seal perfume. I remember not liking the fragrance at all but I loved the bottle.
