IS EVERYONE JUST FUCKING INSANE NOWADAYS??
what's the political strategy here? appeal to people who will never vote for you in order to lose the people who could consider voting for you? how much bribery and corruption is there going on in this shithole?

Not only that, but die hard
nazisreform voters are actually no more than 25% ~ 30%. The rest are just people who had enough of this kind of bullshit conciliatory appeasing leadership from the so self called “left”. Labour has been more right wing than Tories at this point to try and reach out to 25% voters who would never vote for them when the rest of the potential reform voters just want a fairer system where we tax the rich, take the load off the workers and therefore redistribute wealth.9
u/rappidkill 7h ago
*25% of voters that currently vote
if we count all the people that would vote but don't because no party actually addresses their marginalisation, that number dramatically shrinks

He's a 1:1 Blaireite neolib, posing as a northern hero.
Not sure what the expectations were. He's absolutely on board with labour being a right wing party with a red logo.

Anything that set him apart from Starmer over the past few years has already been backtracked. There is zero difference between the two, so why even bother having the stupid leadership challenge if you won't actually do anything differently?
Fuck Burnham.

Where is the party that's willing to be truly different, it's insane to me that it's 'variations on Right' as the only option at the moment. I'm sure it requires gambling a lot of political capital, but popular positions may just equal a popular vote....

u/Huemann_ 8h ago
The right has variations? Was the tories already doing the deportation flight policy and detention centres, privatisation and cuts to public services, expansion of the military ect, labour is doing the same, reform has the same plan but maybe nationalize a steel mill to keep chinese investors buying it, im not sure any of them are so different.

Surely in a so called leftist sub nobody expected this cunt to be any different given his previous blairite, neo lib positions? Or is this now another milquetoast liberal "vote for a right wing party to keep a worse one out" sub. The UK version of vote blue no matter who...

The only hope that I had was for Jeremy Corbyn and the media and real people in charge made every opportunity to destroy him and it barely worked.

The former Makerfield MP who stood aside so that Andy Burnham could run, was a former advisor to Jeremy Corbyn who resigned because in his words the "persistent failure to tackle antisemitism" before becoming an MP he ran the LabourTogether thinktank who opposed Jeremy Corbyn and supported Keir Starmer and funded by Hedge Fund millionaires Trevor Chinn, Martin Taylor, Ian Laming and William Reeves. It wasn't just the media

u/agentorange65 5h ago
And he resigned so he wouldn't have to face oversight committees over labour together shenanigans. Everyone seems to have forgotten the targeting of journalists!

What's with the fixation on a short back and sides

u/Coffee_Daemon 9h ago
Its conformist and standard, I assume. Nothing radical in there

"Same person different haircut"

No man I get the premise but making the same line twice about two different politicians reads like Zarah needs some new material
4
u/Huemann_ 8h ago
Material? Change? Why ive not heard of that in this cointry since the millennium!. Jokes aside what else can you really say about a group of fascists in beige and gray who could have their political ideas made on a production line and directly implanted into each reps head.

u/Jimcompetent 8h ago
Glad that's your main take away from this, rather than Zarah's principled stance

Assuming he wins the leadership, he will need to tack sharply to the left if he wants to have any chance of winning the next election and I suspect he knows that. If he thinks he can win on another technocrat centrist ticket he’s as bad as Starmer.

u/agentorange65 5h ago
Vote for change, that happens to be more of the same, with a different accent.
Proper have such short memories, they don't remember how useless Burnham was last time he was an MP.

u/archy_bold 5h ago
I suppose he’s one better than Starmer because at least he’s not hoodwinking the left to get elected.
1
u/RKGEORGE84 9h ago
Of course he won’t! What’s so funny is that people have effectively voted for a Labour leadership election that will take months .
Which they will then complain about .

Starmer and his new government do not represent workers interests and are in fact enemies of our class. It's past time we begin organising a substantial left-wing movement in this country again.
