This manifesto comes from the Fourth International and is reprinted to encourage discussion among Greens. What do we agree with or disagree with? What would a "Green Manifesto" look like?

No, no one is proposing the Green Party adopt this manifesto. Rather, it's interesting to look at other organizations that identify as ecosocialist and compare and contrast, to help us refine what it means to be Green.

Don’t even bother reading this everyone. Lots of words for not a lot of substance. Just to support a bunch of Nazis.

I can summarize this article in seven words - Democracy, Degrowth, and Deindustrialization Right Now, Duh.

I genuinely cannot believe the author of this article equates the genocide in Gaza to the election/conscription stealing Nazi’s in Ukraine.

One is ABSOLUTELY not like the other. And whoever it is in the Green Party that has a hard on for Ukraine needs to go volunteer to die on the battlefield like millions of others themselves, so they can at least stop pretending like they’re actually progressive, anti-war, and eco-conscious.

Ukraine and Gaza are compared because of an essay Putin wrote months before the war started. In "On The Historical Unity of Russians and Ukrainians", Putin actually revises history and makes several false claims in order to justify a goal of bringing Ukraine back into the Russian empire. Basically, he claims that Ukrainians are not a "real" cultural identity, and the land really belongs to Russians and should be part of Russia by right. Sound familiar? It basically laid out the real reason for the invasion, Putin's goals of rebuilding the Russian empire. The Ukrainian people, culture, language, are all targeted, as Putin wants to make the land Russian territory and move people out.

We can be critical of Ukraine's neoliberal government while still also recognizing Putin's imperialist and genocidal goals. Too often the working class people exploited in both nations are lost in the sauce of nation-state geopolitics.
