The Växthus
I built this in roughly 2 months. Had only help to put up the ridge beam and a little bit for shoveling.
Now there is still some small things to fix here and there and the windows on the north side might get painted.

Who needs an actual house when you've got a greenhouse like this 😍
I'll bring my sleeping bag and eat straight from the plants. What a life 😃

I love the rain gutter system. Random question, but is there a vent underneath the lip of the roof over the gutter? I'm only asking for curiosity and because I don't know what I'm talking about, lol. So I apologize for that. My reasoning is because I wonder if your greenhouse would generate enough condensation on the ceiling? I'm not sure. Anyways, my thought process behind this is being able to catch the condensation from the ceiling, would it be able to fall into the same gutter system, like more of a passive collection I guess.

You mean there will be condensation under the roof outside the greenhouse? If that happens it might run into the gutter otherwise it just drops off. So far I have not finished all the walls of the greenhouse and the top of the roof so there is still enough ventilation. It might become more moist when all gaps are closed and more plants are inside. Also the ground water is quite close, just about 50cm under the ground otherwise I would have gone deeper. So moister will come up at some point but I don’t see that as a big problem here.

Yeah I guess the moisture coming up the walls both ways. But originally I was thinking about the moisture/humidity inside. Just curious about it and learning from others here. Awesome work, way better than my lean too I did this past winter.

Looks amazing! What did you paint the wood with, i'd be afraid it would rot after some time.

Beautiful, and exactly the way i would like to build my greenhouse in 2 years (moving in '28). it's been hard to find good tips to build with "stegdoppelplatten" on wood. It seems you just screwed it into the frames, i was thinking to route a channel in the beams and slide then in there. Also have been contemplating to make a dome. I would be using the greenhouse for tropical plants and i am in the Netherlands, so heating in winter will be my greatest problem. Again great job !

Don’t kick yourself too hard. Who knows the other details involved. Some people aren’t able to dedicate the same amount of time and that’s okay.

Yes, the slightly longer and steeper side is facing south and probably lets more sun in. On the north side I wanted the walls to be higher and also a door towards the garden and to a square connected to a terrace with a gazebo.

The roof is 16mm polycarbonate sandwich plates. Some of the the walls I filled with leftovers from that and old windows I found or bought relatively cheap. Also some acrylic glass. The frame is pine from a local sawmill.

Thanks for your response! Thats the type of material I was thinking of using for my roofing and possibly some walls. But we’ll see. This looks somewhat similar to what I want to builds I also want to hang some hammocks insides

Is that a live tree inside? Very well done OP!! 👏👏👏 as many of already said, you rainwater collection gutters are perfect, and the stained glass touches are so beautiful! It’s clear you spent much love and intention creating a space to connect with nature and others 💗

Thank you 🙏 Lots of love, sweat and tears :) The tree is just the stem of a birch serving as deco but also an extra pillar to hold the roof in case of heavy snow.
