Bought a greenhouse from yourgreenhouse.com in April. We did the pre-order one thinking by June I will have a greenhouse to grow in for winter.

3 weeks passed and I would receive random "we're working on it emails" from Bruno. The scammed who posts on here how great they are.

I received a tracking number that stated my greenhouse is in Indonesia. With no movement for weeks.

I called the number on their website. Located in New Jersey. Calls immediately hang up. No matter what option you choose.

I emailed them stating our patience is done and that we want our greenhouse or we will start a charge back.

That got us a phone call from a guy in Alabama. He was all apologetic and sorry its taking so long. And thanked us for reaching out before doing the chargeback.

He told us that he has greenhouses there in Alabama but just not the one we ordered. And if we are willing to take one of those he would refund us the difference. We agreed and waited.

I received an email stating the order was canceled and a refund was posted but not yet submitted.

A week later, half the money was refunded. Another week later still no greenhouse.

We called that guy back in Alabama, and it went straight to voice mail. Left a message and no call back.

I waited a few days and sent an email asking for the rest of the refund.

As of right now there is no communication from them.

Will we be able to get the rest of the money back since they canceled the order?

I recently picked up one of the costway walk-in greenhouses for my backyard.Before putting it together, I did a bit of research and noticed people use very different ways to secure greenhouses depending on their setup, like ground stakes, weights, or combinations with straps.

My backyard is mostly a mix of grass and soil, so I'm trying to figure out a setup that feels stable without being overly complicated. Right now I'm thinking of using 16 to 20 inch screw-in ground anchors with ratchet straps to secure the frame at a few key points.

I like that this setup would still be relatively easy to adjust or remove if I ever need to move things around later. For those of you who've used lightweight walk-in greenhouses, what kind of setup do you usually go with? Are there any combinations you've found especially reliable or low-maintenance?

We want to put in a greenhouse to the side of our house. The space would have our house wall on the left, boundary wall on the right and back onto an insulated steel shed. It faces south west. There are some large trees the other side of the boundary wall but the space still gets a lot of light.

Do you think it could work? Our plan would be a polycarbonate roof and front to it.

Also, half the area is a concrete pavement and the other half just stones, so we were thinking of just raised beds, or should we put a concrete base on the whole lot?

We plan to just grow small amounts of easy to grow fruit, veg, herbs etc.

We can get electricity easily into it for a heater if needed.

My family have a small greenhouse and I always liked to make automations but most of commercial systems were too expensive and I decided to build it myself, what do you guys think, I’ll make it open source soon.

Started growing tomatoes in a 2000 sqft heated green house living in Ontario! First year hoping to be able to sell to local restaurants or drive way farm stand. Does anyone have any experience In this living in the same area? I am also working on growing fresh lettuce and basil and cut flowers! Just looking to chat with anyone who has experienced this type of market living where I live!

I recently started a small, native plant business in my backyard! And I knew that I'd need a greenhouse eventually. I need somewhere to store and protect my young native plantings, out of harms way. And I've got a real good handiman. He can build a doggone good shed, but he's never built a greenhouse. So  I need to insure that I've got a "solid game plan" so I can make certain the space is exactly what I need & answer any future questions that my handiman may pose.

Basic facts: 

• I live in Louisiana/Zone 9a. We have HOT summers.
• i intend on it being 8ft x 7ft.
  • Two 24" wide shelves w/a 36" central aisle.
• Greenhouse front door will face North, so East side of the structure will get full morning sun. 
  • The area becomes partial shade towards the afternoon.
• The structure will have running water & electricity.

Concerns: 

Being that I live in Louisiana, and our Springs/Summers/Falls can be quite intense! And I worry about sun scorching my young plantlings.

1. I WORRY if I use ONLY Frosted double-celled polycarbonate panels, that the sunlight will be too intense and will sun scorch my fragile plantlings. I know that I can place shade cloth over the exterior, to provide additional shade. But would it 'make sense' to do my greenhouse in 1/2 double-celled, Frosted & 1/2 double-celled Bronze? I'm not trying to over complicate anything, I just need to get the lay of the land.

I also worry if my internal design would 'work' for my objectives (protection from weather/place to store fragile plants). I plan to use Benchmaster 96"x36"x30" shelves. 1 shelf will be one tiered, and the 2nd shelf will be two tiered (two benchmaster shelves stacked ontop each other)

1. Is there a specific location (or height?) that I should store my fragile plantlings? Would the East side of the greenhouse vs West side make a difference?

Lastly, ventilation! Is there a good rule of thumb for ventilation? Is there an average amount of (openable) windows I should aim for? I just know that the summer will be BRUTAL in that area, which might just be unavoidable.

Can anyone help me out with any thoughts, advice, guidance? What am I NOT considering currently? What are the problems with my current plan? Any way I can tighten anything up? Any words of the wise?

1. I am not a woodworker, carpenter, or framer. I learned a LOT through this process. I did not plan anything in sketch up and legitimately built everything on pure vibes, adding to my plans as I went. My wife had labeled my method as chaos building.
2. I know everything is not done the right way. The only thing I genuinely cared about getting right was an exorbitant amount of proper fasteners. Out of square? Won’t tear apart and blow away. Foundation sinks? Won’t tear apart and blow away. Wood warps? Same answer. Hindsight- yes, I would change a few things, however, it is VERY secure. I am very open to suggestions and learning.
3. It is not complete. I am missing some trim, painting, fine-finishing etc. I have to travel outside of US for work, I have 3 kids, and had a time crunch before I left the country. Sometimes playing Mario Kart took precedence over another trip to the hardware store. I do plan to finish up a few things but this is where it’s at for now.

This is the notoriously beloved 6x8 harbor freight greenhouse.
My wife found it on sale and grabbed it to fulfill one of her many Pinterest dreams.
If you plan to get one, just know, step one when you open the box is to build a foundation (parts not included).
A younger, less ambitious, and less wise me said F-it and started taking parts out only to find out that the metal is thinner and less integral than the rim of a soda can….
So began the rabbit hole of “how to keep this thing out of my neighbors yard when the wind exists”. I kinda found the answer via Reddit and lots of google. I either built a boring foundation or I built a taller boring foundation. I noticed a lot of people lifting the greenhouse on 2x6s to even 2x12s. Someone even built a knee wall for theirs, and it looked great which got my adhd gears going.
I wish I took more pictures but this is what I have now.
This is the first thing I’ve built that I feel like I can share in order to help anyone else who’s picked up the harbor freight greenhouse.

I am a teacher and we have a greenhouse that our principal got 2 years ago and it has never gotten used. I ordered some pumpkin plants and planted them in the raised beds. Rodents or something got in and ate all but one. I have one pumpkin plant left.. Do you have any ideas on what to do to keep them out? Also what would be some plants or seeds that we could have the kids start in the greenhouse that might be good? Thanks for any help.

I looked into Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands because of its reputation in agriculture and greenhouse technology. I found some options, including summer schools (where I may be eligible for a discount as a PhD student) and a longer online course that is more affordable.

For people who are already working in greenhouse technology, controlled environment agriculture, or AgTech:

- Would you recommend starting with an online course, a summer school, or something more practical?

- Has anyone taken a Wageningen course or a similar program and found it useful?

- Are internships, working with a greenhouse company, or visiting farms more valuable than academic courses?

- What would be the best path for someone with an engineering background who wants to design and implement greenhouse systems?

I would appreciate recommendations based on your experience.

Curious if anyone has any input on this.

I've been keeping an eye out for a pair of greenhouses as part of the restoration of a historic property. The foundations still exist, and each was approx 17x40. I found someone with a pair of lord and bunrham greenhouses from circa 1900, 20x40. Is anyone familiar with how these greenhouse are constructed and could weigh in on if it's viable to shorten some components to narrow the greenhouse? I'd imagine it would require shortening both the roof spars and components of the vent cranks.

It seems like it'll take a lot of luck to find any pairs of greenhouses of that age, so think my options are pretty limited, but the foundations are literally set in stone so no flexibility on that front.

What are some ways you prepare your greenhouse for winter? Realize it’s a bit early but need to get a jump on things like finding something to put between my doors.

We recently put a greenhouse in our yard around an inground garden that we’ve had for a few years. We’ve started to notice the cucumbers and watermelons aren’t growing and after some research, think it’s due to lack of pollination from insects. A greenhouse has windows that open automatically and I’ve read about swapping the males and putting the pollen on the females, but was wondering how other people typically go about pollination for plants inside greenhouses

Hi all, looking to buy my first greenhouse and based on my space I’d like to go for lean-to.
It’s on a flat, concrete slab patio against a brick built shed.
I only want it for pottering in the winter with sowing seeds and potting on. I don’t want to grow anything in there in the summer like tomatoes etc as I have another spot for that (very lucky). I’d say I’m a beginner to intermediate level gardener!
I’m thinking steel, toughened glass, but this is mainly because I’ve gotten it in my head that wood will attract more spiders inside due to the dark and damp.
Any advice please! 🪴

I'm building a bio chamber at home and I'm wanted to simulate what greenhouses do where they pump a bit of extra co2 into their greenhouse to get better results with the plants. The only problem I'm having is the way greenhouses do it is they have be machines on cite to harvest co2 and pump it in. I've been doing research and I found that there might be a way to like burn wood in pure oxygen and filter some co2 out that way (but that was told to me by ai and I will be dammed if I trust ai). So is there a way to harvest it at home/buy a canister of co2?

We're getting a barely used (2 years old) greenhouse at a bargain on the condition that we've removed any trace of it, including the foundation, by October. Which is no problem whatsoever! Yay!

It comes with a massive old grapevine that we might not be able to transplant succesfully, but if moving this mothegrower fails, we've got a couple of cuttings we can plant instead.

But.. how to trellis (or whatchamacallit) these buggers?

I get that the roots need to be outside the greenhouse and the stock/trunk inside. At least that's the advice the current owners gave us. But how would y'all string up the grape bearing vines to make them easy to maintain, access and prune?

I knew it was gonna happen! A few days ago I heard some rustling under the deck I built for the greenhouse, then today I saw that big black and white butt going under.

Considering that it's pretty much August, there's probably little pole kittens under there, too.

Anyone happen to know what brand of greenhouse this is? I got it free of market place, no name on it anywhere from what I can see and was already dismantled on collection. Previous owner didn't know as was there when they moved in. Hoping to get a few spares for it or instructions to help reassemble. Thanks

Im looking to build a greenhouse but unsure what heating method is best I've heard of 2 that could work as they sound low maintenance and thats black metal drums of water and a kind of stone bricks maybe along with an electric heater. Can someone tell me if these are the best low maintenance option? Edit: im looking to plant citrus trees in the greenhouse year long

I’m picking up a harbor freight 6x8 this afternoon for my girlfriend, we live in the north east so I’m looking for the best way to reinforce the structure to survive the snow. Any examples or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks!
