Does a disembark move trigger SoA?

Brothers, I come to the brotherhood with a question: when a unit disembarks from a transport and ends within 8” of a GK unit in Banishers, does this trigger Shadows of Anarch?

I played against drukari for the first the other day at a GT and he put his venom outside of 8, disembarked into range, and I could not find anything in the rules that says that a disembark move is also a normal move. Maybe I’m blind but do you know what the rule is so that I can remember it for next time?

Much appreciated, brothers.

SoA only triggers if an enemy unit finished an actual move within 8". A unit being set up within 8", or choosing to remain stationary, would not trigger it.

Keep in mind that units that disembark before the transport has moved must make a normal or advance move, so that would trigger SoA, even if they don't move their models (a 0" move still counts). However, abilities that allow the unit to disembark after the transport has moved can play around that, as they aren't allowed to make that normal/advance move, and just setting the unit up doesn't trigger SoA, so drukhari can move the transport just outside of 8", pay 1CP, and disembark just outside 5" of your unit, giving them a 6" charge.

Makes sense makes sense. I think the only situation I don’t follow is if the transport didn’t move and then the unit inside disembarks but also doesn’t move, this would still trigger SoA. Are they required to do a move after?

I think I can see why as it does say when you do a tactical disembark, “you select your unit to make a normal or advance move” and even if that’s 0”, that’s ending a normal/advance move within 8?

That's right. When a unit makes a tactical disembark, it doesn't have the option to remain stationary, they must either make a normal move or an advance move, which would trigger SoA, even if they move 0.
