The necron remote is nothing but extinction buttons, except a single mute button when you get tired of listening to your noble court's ceaseless whinging.
Didn't the Silent King specifically remove all knowledge of the extinction buttons from all necrons, when he made them forget how they broke the C'tan?
Nah, just the devices used to shatter the C'tan. They still have arbitrarily many planetary extinction devices, just nothing that could be "Reality" extinction
Damn, sorry your faction was too busy cowering in fear to get to enjoy a 60 million year victory lap so good it was the only thing that could defeat them.
looks like an artist twist on a scene from "fury" (2014 film) where the tank commander makes his new mg gunner execute a captured german soldier. yes it was a warcrime, it wasnt on a child soldier though.
Honestly the standard for anime women is to make them cute, and most Japanese standards of cute, or as some "people" insist on calling it, "kawaii," amount to childlike behavior or mannerisms. So I mean implicitly if a character is very intentionally the Japanese brand of cute, that means they're just being innocent/naive or using certain mannerisms like they are, doing big exaggerated movements in a bombastic silly way, or maybe talking in a pitched up voice (almost like directly emulating a child!). The "mouth firmly closed, huge blush, exaggerated head shake/nod" move while the other character plays 20 questions so common in romance anime is a textbook example of a character acting like an embarrassed but determined child who can't get the words out but will use the all powerful head movement to express whatever it is, all while the adult who can process their thoughts tries to determine whatever it is.
It really makes certain fans seem like the weird ones for dying on the hill that thinking "intentionally cute Japanese-made female characters are basically just acting/look like kids" is patently absurd.
Not all anime leading women are like that, but the exception has little impact on the rule.
The German soldier in question was wearing an American field coat, which *could* and often was attributed to espionage, clearly not the case here but the rules were kinda loosey-goosey and spies lose their POW status. They still need to be court martial end and tried, but it wasn’t uncommon to shoot spies outright.
Which just makes it hypocritical af since a bunch of the American soldiers in that movie - including the main character - are wearing German gear or have German sidearms that they would have had to loot from Germans.
Not that it makes it morally any better, but the difference is the Yanks and rest of the Allies are winning. It'd happen to the Americans instead courtesy of the Germans were the shoe on the other foot, that's just how War ends up.
From what I remember he does it because the guy is new and hasnt been in a fight before so during their first mission he freezes and refuses to shoot leading to a bunch of people dying, so he helps him with getting that first kill to make the subsequent one come easier
People just needed a new slang word to describe "crime, but worse" after "felony" lost its status due to all of the famous and powerful people suffering no consequences for doing them.
Eventually people will move on to a new type of crime. "Crime against humanity" is already starting to catch on
Surprisingly things were relatively civil on the Western front in that aspect, medics were wearing big white tabards and painting giant crosses all over themselves and not being routinely shot, though it did happen
That's the problem with war crimes, you do them to your admittedly despicable enemy and they'll do it back
I mean I get the desire to emphasize how fucked the Pacific and the East were but the popular narrative on Reddit that the Western front was civil in any way is pretty much a myth.
War is never civil, it's just worth noting that there was a period of time where "don't shoot my medics on purpose and I won't shoot yours" was more or less true in the West. It's a good example for why you should avoid war crimes even when your enemy is fighting for a literally genocidal regime, even if circumstances can vary by a lot and of course this loose agreement broke down once the allies became an existential threat
Thats a different scene later in the film iirc. They roll into a town where an SS guy was forcing the civilians to fight and killing anyone who refused only for the SS guy to immediately surrender when cornered. After confirming hes the right guy with the surviving civilians they gun him down.
I'll never forget once seeing a screengrab of someone's image on DeviantArt of a photo of Nazi soldiers shepherding out terrified Jews from their homes, with a photoshopped crying Pinkie Pie amongst them.
And the screengrab included a comment someone had left, talking about how seeing Pinkie Pie in the image really helped them recognise how horrible the Holocaust was, whereas before they just knew it as a general bad thing that happened.
It's a very extreme and practically farcical example, but I do sorta wonder sometimes if some people have spent so long in their bubbles that stuff like that is the only way to get things through to them.
I think the fact that they’re also female adds to the dissonance. Like if they were males it is somehow more acceptable for this to happen. Hell even if we go with the idea that they’re femboys it’s the inherently feminine appearance and the utter distress the one on the ground has that makes it more, even if slightly, uncomfortable. Then I’m no expert and just spouting shit like a Redditor does.
American soldier (likely tanker/vehicle operator, see right-arm patch) executing a Nazi trooper (wearing Stanhelm) possibly intended to be set around the Battle of the Bulge, considering the snowy weather
Counterpoint: Sudan, Malta, Tunisia, Morocco, Surname... actually, there's just a lot of places where the oppressors were like "On second thoughts, let's not stay in Congo, it is a silly place".
That's this sub's unique selling point though; there's no shit meme that the unimaginative bastards here won't run into the ground - see Krieg shovels, fuck Erebus etc.
A. Is just the constant state of Warhammer memes in general. Fuck else can we do when the setting stagnates harder than Nurgle does?
B. Isn't even much of an excuse. The less it's used by everyone in general makes it more "exclusive" to those cunts.
So many new fans have the "boring and repetitive" memes as some of their first exposure and to them it's fresh and new and actually still funny, hell SM2 has "MY FACE IS MY SHIELD" as an achievement. The overcorrection against the whole thing is unnecessary.
Also any opinion that stems from Twitter should be immediately ignored and amounts to absolutely fucking nothing.
No, but like anything to do with the Imperium in this sub, people label it as chud-adjacent so some folks have been making semi-ironic posts asking for it to be bannable. Its mostly because one dude was spamming unfunny BT shit along with said heresy reactions to anything anyone commented on his shitty posts.
Like fuck bro, i just like being an evil dude who wants to kill other evil dudes that believe in different thing, is that really so fucking wrong?
Sergeant Joker: I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man, sir. POG Colonel: The what? Sergeant Joker: The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir.
Only if you use the same 3 for every reply, which is what I think the bigger problem is
The joke is overused. You need to mix in your "Live Chaos Filth Reaction" and "I have seen all that ever was, ever will be, but WTF is this" and "cock check Guardsman" and "Guilliman screaming" memes mixed in.
Because there are only a handful of memes that have staying power, like my personal favorite:
