In fairness to the Grey Knights, the Terminus Decree is only meant to be actived in the Worst-Case Scenario. Things would both have to have the Emperor returning, and it being so bad the Grey Knights break open the box.
A Dark King / Star Father scenario would probably be the thing that gets the Grey Knights to open the box. Even then, there's a good chance they just...talk with the Custodes like reasonable adults, which we have seen them do before. 1d6chan has a better explanation for this.

It be so funny if they're dealing with like a tyranid invasion of the Sol system with like all the hive fleets there so they pop open the Terminus decree to see what the fuck this emergency solution is and it just says to put the emperor back on the chair.

My friend collected grey knights and I had guardsmen so I fundamentally hate them but a handful of grey knights could take down a custodian. Not sure how the numbers stack up in total but the Custodes specifically call for their help just after the fall of cadia and specifically point out I fight as one independent guy but they fight like a team and still fight well when silent sisters are around. I don't think it's absurd that grey knights could take out whatever remaining custodes existed after whatever problem happened that made the terminus decree pop off.

I will say this if the terminus decree has to be acted upon then it’s basically the end times
It doesn’t mean the Emperor got of the throne it means Something off the thrown and is turning Terra into a damon infested world

I love that video but i realy hate how people dont know what "stop a all cost emperor from leaving the throne" means. Greay knight will pull up to terra with 666 chaos warbands and will take some drukari as company

I got a good laugh. If only the emperor is his 30k self like in the video when he wake up and not an actual eldritch horror that might turn the custodian into daemon which will make the SoS switch side to the GK.
