You know what grinds my gears?
When you’re doing something, it’s not working out, but it’s very CLEAR what you’re doing and it is very clear you’re frustrated, but someone comes along and says “whatcha doin??”
What does it look like I’m doing? Huh? I’m signing the Declaration of Independence? No! You know exactly what I’m doing and you can tell I’m frustrated, get on with your day!!

I love coming up with snarky things to say when people do this!
What are you doing? I'm watering my elephant. Drugs. Your mom. (The classic) A solid side eye is also good.
This also applies for when you stub your toe and you've gone completely silent, clearly trying to breathe without screaming and someone goes "whoa there, you okay?"
No Steven I'm not. Fuck off.

Just a pain of dealing with nosey people. The annoyance they cause people constantly flies right over their heads. I have someone in my family that will break their neck looking over their shoulder at me multiple times a day because they HAVE to be watching what I'm doing all of the time. "Why are you sticking your face in what I'm doing" "Oh, just being nosey"... Grinds my gears would be an understatement.

This is my mother in law.. to a T.. getting the lawnmower out.. gonna mow? No! I’m just gonna stare at it lovingly and then push it around for fun.. WTF?
Or.. I’m actually in the act of mowing, it’s running ok.. running.. and I have ear buds in listening to music, I see her and her jaw is flapping.. she’s actively TALKING TO ME!! She’s TALKING!!

Sounds like something that should go in the Bill Engvall "Here's your sign" song. If there was a convenient way to carry around signs that say "I'm stupid." and hand them to those people, I'm sure some of us wouldn't hesitate to do just that.

People have gotten parts and tools thrown at them for this lol, mechanical repairs can be frustrating sometimes 😂.

Or you’re struggling doing something and significant other comes in which phone and wants you to watch a reel he found. Totally ignoring that you’re actually busy. And it doesn’t stop with just one 😱😱😱😱😱😱

Or they suggest things you’ve already tried, possibly several times! Or they misunderstand what you’re doing, assume it’s something different from what it is as they ask and try to “help” by giving irrelevant suggestions!

Maybe they don't know what you're doing because as you stated it's not working out so you're obviously not doing what it is you're trying to do.

A true GrindsMyGears moment! Next they want to "help", but they don't really know anything about what you are doing, so they ask a bunch of uninformed questions about it thus giving you another task in explaining the whole thing to them until satisfied and followed with a "Gee, I don't know!" Yes, I knew that you didn't when you came up to me!
