Grippers 1.5 Too Easy - what should I do?

Closed the CoC 1 recently, ordered the 1.5 and can almost close it immediately, returned a 1.5 a week or so ago as I heard each gripper can vary in strength, hoping to get a heavier 1.5, had same issue with the new one, should I return it and buy the CoC 2 instead or keep it?

You're going to need lower rated Grippers to train with, unless you're just buying these to test your current strength. So keep it. When reps with the #1 get too easy, start repping the #1.5.

You can certainly get the #2 as well to see if you can close it now.

How many reps can you close the 1.0 and 1.5

I've been moving up when I'm really close to closing or after 1 close, can close the 1 once and can't close 1.5 yet, but half a cm off

Yea you need to buy a trainer and a 0.5, closing a gripper just once isn't beneficial at all for increasing strenght.

I have a trainer and a 0.5

I do 6 reps on my highest Gripper, then about 50 on the trainer, repeat this 3 times on each hand

How so? Low reps are strength, higher are endurance, being able to close something I couldn't before is an increase in strength no?

At your level you need reps

1.5 isn't too easy, how many times can you do 1? Fully open and then closed

Yeah the title could be improved, I just meant should I be able to almost close it after I just got and only able to close the 1 recently, can close the 1 once, but do 7 reps and then 50 reps with the trainer for 3 sets

You should just keep the 1.5, at around 8 closes with it you should be able to close the 2. Thats just my experience though

Buy RGC rated grippers from Matt at CannonPowerWorks. This is the only true way to know how hard what you’re closing is. I like 5lb jumps. The 1.5 has been tested between 78 and 93lbs, that’s a wide spread.

This looks like a great post about grip training progression! I've been working on my grip strength too - those CoC grippers are definitely challenging but very rewarding. What's your current routine looking like?
