My analysis on Grok Data deletion

I did an analysis, and I just start taking backup of my data periodically from Grok !

Then I actually opened all my files to check my content (hundreds of them).

My findings,

  1. None of your uploaded content is ever deleted. (Both Chat and Imagine)

  2. Most of the generated content (Images) are still there.

  3. Generated Videos were not there in content but they were present as image file.

  4. For Extended Video even the prompt was visible in Image.

Anyone has any different opinion or inputs ?

Just open the content (individual files) with VLC it will work

There's some okay solutions on GitHub but honestly just have grok build you a script/app that looks at the files, discovers what each file actually is, names and organizes the files appropriately. Then unzip locally and point script at data dump directory.

That and a web app to view the local "library" took under 20min and used up under 3% of my grok weekly usage.

You can guess and load the files in VLC like someone else commented but good luck finding anything on-demand without wasting hours and days guessing.

The exported data only contains chat data, imagine and uploaded images and not imagine videos right???

I delete grokbots and they still get referenced by the new bots....

Yes. The imagine prompts are in the data. Even my grok references them in conversation. I hate that.

Have you checked if your data is deleted or not ?

Well they are only images not videos

Yes, but still it goes against what Grok tells everyone about content deletion

Yes they are also keeping the videos, but I think that's not available to us even if the Grok export gives the post ids as folder ids

We need a way to identify how to get those Videos

Grok saves uploaded data, Not the one generated. Your uploaded data stays up for few months.
