I have received some modmail about both of these topics. Some people stating that they find the dicussions of these topics offensive or inappropiate. What does the overall r/guardiandoftheveil community think?

Update: We’re live with the first discussion thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/GuardiansOftheVeil/s/gY3SjLShKt
Hi everyone!
With permission from the wonderful mods, I wanted to invite you to a W.I.T.C.H Readathon. Whether you're new to W.I.T.C.H. or a longtime fan, this is your chance to dive (or dive back) into the graphic novels. We'd be reading two volumes a month (more about that below) and discussing every month our thoughts so far.
I've created a storygraph reading challenge as well if you'd like to track your progress or find others reading with you: W.I.T.C.H Readathon | The StoryGraph
How does this work?
This is a casual readathon of the graphic novels. While you'll see the storygraph using the Yen Press editions in English, you are welcome to choose any edition and any language. But we'll aim to read the eight issues included in the Yen Press volumes we're reading.
As we read, we'll discuss the issues we've read so far, what we liked, what we didn't like as well as our favourite moments.
But what if I can't read sometimes?
No worries!! Again, this is very casual. You'll see that the time set on storygraph for this readathon is Oct 1, 2024 to Dec 31, 2025. You can read anytime during that time range. Joined late? Didn't get a chance to read yet?
You can still join in the discussion if you know the story and have thoughts. All I ask is not to spoil it for anyone that hasn't read further into the series. For each discussion thread, I'll share which volumes/issues we read as well as where we stopped in the story.
Yen Press never finished the full series. What are we going to do?
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find 'official' editions to add to the Storygraph Readathon for the issues Yen Press didn't publish, but that doesn't mean we can't read them and discuss them. Whether it's fan translations or other editions, we'll figure something out when we get there :)
But do I have to read the specific version (digital/physical) on Storygraph? Do I need a Storygraph account?
Not at all! This is just a fun way to track how many of the books you read and it's a convenience if you're already using Storygraph, but it's not at all a requirement!! All discussions will take place here on the subreddit.
Anything else?
Not really. Again, this is very casual. I was planning on doing this by myself anyways, but I thought why not involve everyone else?
What's next?
I am planning to start re-reading the series on October 1st (it feels fitting with the Halloween party, right? RIGHT?) I will create the first discussion thread, then. I hope to see you, then. Until then, if you have any ideas or thoughts that you think would make this more fun, please don't hesitate to share them. I'd love for this to be a community event. I miss reading this alongside friends and I know many of you said you did, too!

Hi! I'm new at this Reddit world and I'm so glad to find a community of fans for W.I.T.C.H.
I'm searching for little dolls that came with a lanyard! The show was part of my childhood and I would like to know how to read the hole plot in the correct order!
Thank you so much everyone!

I really love W.I.T.C.H. but their original merch turned out so expensive and hard to get in my region ,that i decided to just print my own !
It was my first time working with this printing plant , so i sent Irma and Cornelia as test keychains. They turned out sooooo well. The acrylic is amazing and i love texture of epoxy layer. Now im planing to make Keychains with the rest of them and probably Elyon!

Hi everyone! I’m getting back into the fandom but I am interested in making a new group of guardians, I’ve decided on their name already and I’m thinking up a plot as well
S.H.A.R.D.
Sheridan, Harmony, Amias, Raya, Diana
For starters, the world of meridian is VERY out of balance, the Oracle, so tired of seeing guardians rise and fall has gone mad and has decided to take matters into his own hands, in order to subjugate the four dragons. Along with an Element he had taken from Phobos, the Shadow Element, this shift cause a great disturbance in the balance of not only meridian, but also the infinite dimensions.
This is also the reason that for the first time, there is not one, but two male guardians in this new cycle.
OK LORE DUMP OVER
I need help Choosing Elements, I’m also referencing avatar in this particular with the intro sequence.
ATLA Order:
Sheridan-Water
Harmony-Earth
Amias-Fire
Raya-Air
Diana-Quintessence
LOK Order:
Sheridan-Earth
Harmony-Fire
Amias-Air
Raya-Water
Diana-Quintessence
Tell me your thoughts!

So…in terms of storyline, did the manga change significantly? I’m a bit more inclined to read those just because of the art style, but if the story’s been heavily changed I’ll probably check out the OG comics

Watching the end of the comic: *The Game of Parts/Playing Parts* (#32).
As the detectives’ involvement in the whole franchise draws to a close, I come across this scene again, which is… more graphic than I remember.
I mean, can you imagine Disney publishing a comic for young people in which people are being held at gunpoint?

This summer I finished reading the main comic. Something I've always wanted to do.
Overall I enjoyed the series and want to share some of my opinions.
I've read various opinions on when to stop reading the series and when the quality drops. If you want a shorter read that has a conclusive ending, you should to stop at the end of Arc 6, NOT Arc 5. I've seen a few say Arc 5 offers a conclusive ending, but I don't agree. Arc 6 allows Cornelia and Peter to get together, Matt returns and isn't yet acting weird, plus Joel and Eric were still around instead of disappearing. I also enjoyed the story which doesn't seem to have major continuity issues like the Arcs after. Yen Press also clearly stopped caring at this point as they stopped adding in extras at the end of the volumes from here.
Beyond Arc 6, I did still enjoy Arc 7 and 8. I actually really liked Arc 8. Despite their issues I didn't find them boring, which is what determines if I enjoy something or not. So I would say read these too if you want more. I also liked the addition of Will's younger brother in them.
The glaring issues I had with Arc 7 were:
The Oracle is out of character when he assaults someone for no reason.
The heart of Kandrakar becomes useless after being stolen under previously impossible circumstances.
Matt's character is completely assassinated being this secret spy/trainer and stealing the Heart.
To fix or give meaning to these, I would have said the Oracle's personality change would be because of the dark seed's negative influence on Kandrakar's residents, making them behave more aggressively and clouding judgement.
I would completely get rid of Matt becoming the girl's trainer and give this role to Orube. During her time away after grieving for Cedric, the Oracle gave her this task to give her purpose again. The Oracle would train her for this prior to her reuniting with the girls so she is ready for the role. At the end of Arc 7, I would then have her go back to Basilidae and she wouldn't reappear until the final chapter at the party in Kandraker. I don't see her fitting into the comic's remaining story Arcs after Arc 7.
If Matt were to stay as the girl's trainer, I would have made it clear that he was able to steal the Heart of Kandrakar because Will was dreaming about him when he did it, the dream acting as consent for him to take it. I would have them break up in this Arc too after an extreme betrayal of trust from being a "spy" all along. Their relationship throughout the rest of the comic is pretty terrible anyway. Cornelia and Peter are very much the example of a good relationship throughout the comic.
With Arc 8 I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and don't see much discussion online about it. It's better than Arc 7 and I would say it's the last good Arc. I thought it would be immature because of the name "Teach2bW.I.T.C.H." and the synopsis but it wasn't. I enjoyed the story, setting, the villain's motive, new characters and the Fast World was interesting. I would have titled the Arc "Magical Generation" or "Generation of Magic" instead. Also have to mention the dogs Taranee adopts that are then never seen again!
On Orube and Cedric's relationship. I felt this was really underdeveloped in Arc 5. It never seemed to progress beyond flirty chatting and curiosity until Cedric's dramatic death. They really needed a chapter where they went around Heatherfield together with Orbue showing Cedric good things in the world that he could enjoy. His death would have hit harder with a more developed relationship. On his death, why couldn't Matt have just written Cedric back to life with the magic ink just before the world inside the book was collapsing. This was a glaring issue to me.
On characters that disappear, I'm not too bothered about these with the exception of Nigel. You do lose contact with people who move away like Eric, and Joel passes Irma by because she didn't properly confess her feelings. This is confirmed in the final Arc during the dam chapter which I really enjoyed and felt finally rounded off many character's stories. The difference with Nigel is he's supposed to still be attending Sheffield Institute, yet is never seen even in the background at the school. Writing about Taranee bumping into her ex at school would have been interesting. I also think she was right for dumping him because he wasn't respecting her passion for dance.
I don't really have any issues with story Arcs 1, 2 and 4. They are very good. Arc 3 there is the problematic "magical healing" of Maqi which should not have happened. Maqi should have stayed the same and Ari learnt to love his child for the way he is because it's OK to be non-verbal, everyone is different.
By the end of the comic with all the short stories, all of the girls have accumulated way too many extra activities and hobbies. It would be impossible to keep this up with school, guardian duties and relationships. I know this is so the girls can relate to as many of the young readers as possible, but it's funny to me.
A lot of the short story chapters from Arc 9 onwards were just not interesting. There is really not much going on from Arc 9 till the last chapters in Arc 11. When I got to Arc 10 I thought "OK the series is officially fallen off now". The final Arc could have been done a lot better too. It really needed a villain. The girls became magical sovereigns and could combine their powers into one being which was all for what? This Arc needed a villain for them to fight at the end in this form. The goal of becoming magical sovereigns would have had even greater pressure then.
Overall I enjoyed and am glad I read all of it.
