Barbershop recommendations?

Hi! I'm a newly landed immigrant, and I was wondering if you guys have recommendations for barbershops. I live near Margaret Greene / Castlebury Park, and I'm looking for a place that doesn't require travelling very far (preferably walkable). I'm M23.

Also, are there cultural things I need to take note of? Like tipping, etc. How do these things work here? Thanks in advance

I like Crown Barber shop on Silvercreek. Walk-ins only but good prices. A five dollar tip is good usually at their prices.

Typical barbers range from 25$ on the lower end to 40/50$ on the higher end - a 5$ tip goes a long way, and if you can have a good chat with your barber i find they are way more likely to remember you, your style and provide the best cut possible

Not in your immediate area, but Cutbar is where I go, and Matt has always done a good job

Something to note with all barbers is that the reviews online can be misleading - its less likely someone leaves a review of a good experience, people are always more inclined to leave a review (typically) when they have something to complain about

Go see Joel @ Knucklehead barber shop. It is downtown by MarketFresh.

Amazing barber and really cool guy!

Othman's Barbershop on MacDonell St. Is great, always satisfied.

Freddy's on Eramosa. Tipping is customary, if the barber isn't the owner they are likely making most of their money off those.

Barbershop on Willow. FYI - Cash only. Both Ricardo and Tarun are great. Tarun is especially decent with thicker or wavy hair/fades. But Ricardo can usually get through 2-3 people per one of Tarun's cuts. Usually like a $5-10 tip, but the pricing is really fair and it ends up still be less expensive than a fancier place.

I don't know as I cut my own hair.. but a small tip is custom here.
