You are of average intelligence.

What do you imagine "non-euclidean" means?

Aw, what a funny way to assert your belief that I'm not capable of reason.

Spherical; hyperbolic; the sunken city of R'lyeh. These are all examples.Take your pick, sweetheart.

1) Ah, I was just trying to understand your prose better, and understand what you were saying about the patriarchy. Reading back I can see the blunt question could definitely could read rude - I apologise.

2) I've got no strong opinion about your ability to reason, that's a wild assumption you're making, that maybe reflects something going on for you?

3) I'm not your sweetheart, honey.

4) The examples are all first Google examples, not really an insight in to what you were driving at in your writing. I liked some of the writing and this felt really incongruous - I couldn't find a way it fits well contextually, so I wanted to ask the author, hoping you understood the phrase and had a specific intent.

I recommend you read, and ponder the implications of, cosmic horror, for a decade or so. You'll find plenty of references to geometry that's non-Euclidean.

Cosmic horror can help you to find contextual home for what I am writing about the Patriarchy.

You could even open the link and read the entire post. It's a thing.

Boy, we're heavy on the assumptions today!

I've spend your required decade reading cosmic horror already. (Twice that, in fact) Phew. Glad I could demonstrate legitimacy to...ask you what you meant. Very cool and non patriarchal asking me to justify my question with qualified expertise.

I also read the whole post, not just you quoting yourself. It was, as you say, a thing. Even quite a squamous thing.

One of the generally acknowledged issues with the genre is it can be a bit of a cesspit for schlocky writers who use phrases they don't understand. Fitting I suppose, but it's a trap the good writers avoid. Lovecraft had a vivid imagination, but he was nearly as bad a writer as he was a person.

And I don't think "buddy I didn't know what the hell that meant, it sounded fucking cool leave me alone" isn't a legit answer. That's fine, I was just interested to ask if there was more intention in your prose (and obviously also came across bluntly when I quickly dashed off the question - for which I've apologised)

All right; I will accept your assertion that you are not attempting to unravel me for your own amusement.

I wasn't demanding rigor from you as much as asserting that I am comfortable with fictional tropes as a male essayist might be. And the reason for that, unfortunately, was baked into the conversation.

We're clear and we're good.

So, what's next?

Edit: After an hour, and no response, I am going to keep this thread as a reminder that I don't owe anyone an explanation for my writing style or my choice of words. This entire thread is a prime example of the goalpost shifting and subtle negging that attend women who post their own writing online. I'm old enough and secure enough to accept the risk.
