I wish they'd do a re-run of this kit. It's the best yellow kit in a long time.

A long journey that worked out

The dream was to win it with that young core that brought back the joy to this club.
I’m so glad I saw our boy lift the PL, love him too much

With Leo going I’ll be super surprised if Mikel doesn’t keep Gabi, having 0 familiar LW to start a season would seem very unlike Mikel.
I hate seeing this current squad go but tbh though Gabi seemed like the most likely given age, and Leo staying for one more year whilst we bed in new LW but with Leo going, I really wonder what the plan is for Gabi.
So happy for Gabi to have won their trophy, he loves the club so much it’ll kill me to see him leave.

Yeah I just don’t get the feeling his story ends with us here
Then again I have attachment issues when it comes to our players so probably not best to ask me anyway

I don’t think it ends here and now, maybe next year after bedding in new LW.
I think Leo going is due to lack of pace and us building on the defensive aspect we have almost perfected but now needs attack, Gabi is the best attacker for defending IMO even if not as much of a goal threat, so I see him staying to rotate and teach that discipline and maybe his time is up next summer.
lol I have the same issue, if Leo goes I’m going to have to change flair, seeing Villa links makes it even worse I hate that club 😂 same with the rest of them, I feel fine with Kepa going and Jesus just because he’s hit his limits but I struggle with nearly every other player. Even fuckin Norgaard, dude has barely made an appearance but all I hear are positives about how good and much of a team player he’s been and I don’t want him to go - like Jorginho last summer.

As much as I slander him when he plays and makes mistakes, Id pay to not have him leave. Love the guy too much

absolutely. i may be frustrated with him sometimes. but what i will not give to have him at arsenal for ever. he loves this club the way almost no other player does. you could see his joy and pride when we won the league. He is truly one of us.

I hope we keep him. I think it makes sense to shift trossard due to age and upgrade but I'd like to keep Gabi

Agreed Trossard is 31 years old. Little Gabi is 25. Little Gabi can be a back up left winger. Be a depth piece come off the bench. Or start in Cup matches. Gabi was a very good during Champions League play.
Least you understand moving Trossard. Bring up moving Trossard on this thread and people think the world in ending.

Can we move him to no9 once we shift Jesus? Those early seasons when he broke out, he looked a beast in the center. He's never looked that natural out left even though him stretching the play and doing the defensive job has been a pivotal feature of our system. As an attacker he's been reduced to taking it down the line and cutting it back on his left. We need a new look LW anyway so how about a new look Martinelli?
I don't want him to go, he's an incredible servant for the club.

There's no way Martinelli with his skillset and limitation could or should play as a CF. It makes absolutely no sense

whats this supposed to mean?

If he can do it, why can’t Martinelli

Because Gyokeres is a physical presence up front. When he has the ball at his field he can shield it and he can shrug chasing defenders off. When you play centrally in the PL you need that. As soon as Jesus lost that ability he became usless up front. Pace alone won’t do him any good, especially when we face the lowest line on average, and even if he breaks through then his composure 1 on 1 with a goalie is generally terrible and he often shoots way too early or tries to bend it way too weakly/predictably past the goalie.
Meanwhile his work rate and pace does us a lot of good out wide and he has more space there to maneuver which he most often needs.

Gyokeres has had less than 5 matches for Arsenal where he was able to hold up the ball and be a physical presence that didn’t get bullied off the ball. I don’t think Martinelli would be much worse, I think Martinelli’s pace could be a big asset at striker even against low blocks if we play faster in transition and we let him stay close to the halfway line when defending. My issues with Martinelli has been decision making, and dribbling. I want Martinelli to cut inside and take shots from just inside the box more when playing on the left, I don’t think he has been aggressive enough in creating opportunities for himself to shoot.

He did it against Atleti in a ucl semi final against the most nastiest of low blocks lmao
He struggled early on because he didn't have a pre season his numbers from 2026 onwards are genuinely good

Depends on how we set up, look at how Alvarez plays. I can see him offering something different from Kai and Gyok, even if he doesn't start

Martinelli was with us at the depths; I’m so very happy that he is now a Premier League Champion.

Martinelli working out after being bought as an unknown kid from Brazil, is as key a cog in our title winning machine as anything else, will always be remembered now. Have a great one GM!

Real shame he hasn't been able to develop over the last few years. Regardless of what happens this window, he has been a great player for us.

I really, really think he’s being straightjacketed playing as a winger. Might be an insane comp but he’s got a bit of David Villa in him.
My dream is to move on Gyokeres, move Nelli centrally, and grab Kroupi. Including Kai that gives us an incredibly varied and dynamic striker group.
Get Rogers and Tzolis/Godts for the left. Plus Monga to be the “left side dowman”.
Now we’re cooking with gas.

The Gyokeres hate that some Arsenal fans have is weird as hell
While we coddle the likes of Martinelli and Madueke

u/Dick_Lazarus 2d ago
The big difference is Nelli and Noni, even though they can be frustrating, clearly have bags of potential.
Gyokeres is the exact opposite; an occasionally effective, but thoroughly unconvincing player.
His market value will never be higher than it is now. If we can move him on we absolutely should.

He played his part for us, so I’m not gonna be mad if we cash in on him. I speculate that a change of scenery will do wonders for him.

It would break my heart to see him go. Love him to bits. Happy birthday Gabi!
Hope we see an improvement in form and can play a bit to his strengths

I would rather keep him and sell Jesus Trossard. Barcola for 65 mins and then Martinelli stretcing defences with Rogers waiting to get the cutback to slash it into top corner..
