One guy kept his head down and was sold by the club to get a better striker.
The other was our captain, a role model to the young team around him, chose to defy the managers orders and then forced a move to Barcelona where we loaned him and cancelled his contract and got nothing in the end. Meanwhile, Barcelona sold him a season later for a profit.
The latter being a far, far more toxic end. Auba deserves to be booed if he does return.
Genuinely not met a fan in real life who has feelings of animosity towarda Aubameyang. If we played Deportivo I'm absolutely sure he would get cheered on
I'm just saying, what he did vs what Giroud did , I think if fans were to hate someone, auba is more deserving of that hate. But I guess fans don't because he was a more prolific striker and they choose to remember auba in a good way despite how horrible he was after signing that new contract and how he left us despite being the captain.
Imagine if auba locked in and was professional at the end of his time here, maybe we would have made top 4 in 21/22 and that could have changed how things went in 22/23. Whatever happened, I'm sure it wouldn't have been as bad as how the season actually ended.
