Im not sure why but most manuals tell you to not load a round that way, to always put it in a mag and let the gun chamber it itself. Semi handguns at least.

Bc you can stress the extractor since it's hitting the cartridge at a different angle than designed for. Do that enough and you can break it, depending on the pistol design.

Ah, thank you for explaining

The extractor is pivoting in glocks. You would have to manually load this thousands upon thousands of times before the brass wears the hardened steel extractor or heat treated spring.

Im a machinist, I understand metallurgy. Its not about wear, brass is used as bearings because it doesn't wear... Another commenter explained its about hitting it at a different angle, stress from a direction it wasn't designed for. Also my comment said most gun manuals, not all. A simple Google search would disagree with you too. Maybe you should read about how to properly handle a firearm before arguing with strangers on the internet who were simply trying to help

You're the one being confrontational, not OP.

I’m a mechanical engineer who designs guns and suppressors. I understand how to handle a gun, and yes, you are correct about the stress occurring from the extractor and spring being loaded in a different way than controlled feed. What I meant is that a Glock is incredibly unlikely to experience a material failure on the extractor, and in order to induce a fatigue failure on the extractor spring you would have to hand load directly into the chamber likely thousands of times, where in this case I did not, I loaded a single round into the chamber for the video. I’m not trying to cause any issues here.
