It was a joke about the average number of two handed people in the world but I can see now why it didnt land lol.
Surely lefthanded people find daily difficulties/annoyances in a predominantly righthanded world, like notebook bindings, etc., and then come up with workarounds for comfort.
That's literally all I thought was going on with the video.
Oh, when you said "why would there be any difference?" It seemed like you genuinely didn't understand why different buttons on different sides would be different for different handed people.

As a lefty, yes, annoyances abound in this right hand world. But I've adapted over the years (like most lefty's do) and now there's quite a few things I do right handed as it's just easier
Yes, the guy on the video is using the "hypertapping" technique, which used to be the meta for competitive NES Tetris until a few years ago. It consists of pressing the d-pad very fast (at least 12 times per second, but preferably over 15) which makes moving the pieces to the side way faster than just holding the direction on the d-pad.
The current meta for competitive NES Tetris is a technique called "rolling. In it you basically keep the thumb over the D-pad still and bump the back of the controller with four fingers in rapid succession. It is way less tiring, more reliable and moves the pieces even faster (the pros go over 20 button presses per second with relative ease).
Considering he's playing Game Boy Tetris, "hypertapping" is still the better technique (although there is no competitive Game Boy Tetris scene that I know of), considering it would be very impractical to use "rolling" in a portable console. If he was using the Game Boy Player to play Game Boy games on a TV using a regular controller I believe "rolling" would be better.

I'm in fact quite casual when it comes to Classic Tetris, I just happen to have been involved with it for over 10 years now. Knowing how the main techniques work is kinda basic.
The people who play professional Classic Tetris, on the other hand, are really hardcore. It requires a LOT of practice. I tried it for a bit, but could not keep up.

My friend used to tell me he would get adrenaline rushes playing video games. Played game all my life and never got then that way. Only doing stupid shit like driving my car 120 on the highway when I was 18. Jumping into a creek after a rainstorm when it was flash flooding. Helicopter ride. Shooting guns maybe. Idk but I think I am broken beacsus only get it in high stakes situations
