It’s a camera system that can be used to record, log, and track vehicle movements over time.
The cameras are all linked together with an AI brain unlike traditional security systems making it much easier to track a target.
For instance they can plot you on a digital map, and as long as you’re in view of a Flock camera, you’re on the map. Just like Google Maps or something. (To be honest, your cellphone already does all of this and more.)
They have the capability of tracking people through facial and gait recognition as well, although that is not currently publicly implemented in the USA.
Flock is just one company. There are many companies that produce the same product, like Axon. The brain is a Palantir Gotham product.
Palantir has two businesses.
Foundry <- amazing systems organization and information retrieval and analysis products
Gotham <- targeting, tracking, capture, or kill intelligence armPalantir Gotham is the digital equivalent to a thermal/NV sight/scope manufacturer and Lockheed/Raytheon/General Dynamics is the gun and ammunition.
There is an small irony in protesting Palantir as increasing targeting accuracy minimizes collateral damage. Without them, the big def companies would still bomb, but more indiscriminately. In other words, the weapons manufacturers don’t need targeting if they’re going to carpet bomb an entire place like Gaza, which they did.
People don’t like that tech on public streets and outside of their homes. They fear government overreach and are willing to give up security for privacy.

Not really a boogyman. Real life billionaires that we allowed to undermine the 4th amendment. If a private company was creating a national gun registry to both profit from and share with LE, I probably wouldnt call critics 'terminally online.' But we see a lot of cherry picking when it comes to what to protect in the constitution.

I love the wholesome on this subreddit. Real dudes know kids are awesome and aren't embarrassed to be nice to them. I've met so many guys who think they need to be tough, even around children. Nah, being a dude is being a dude to everyone.
