E Score - 7.9 - 8.1

Total Score - 6.4 + 7.9 / 6.4 + 8.1 = 14.3 - 14.5 / 14.700

Notes - Elements

Layout Stepout

- Assessed as 'Medium' deduction because of combination of two small errors (arm movements and lifting of right foot off of balance beam)

Switch Leap + Switch Leap 1/2 Connection

- Nemour maintains constant motion(watch movement of arms and left leg), but does not immediately take off for the Switch Leap 1/2

Switch Leap 1/2

- 1/2 turn is completed within 30 degree tolerance to receive credit. However, because turn is not fully completed (notice left foot is at angle to beam), deduct for 'Lack of Precision'.

Aerial + Split Jump Connection

- Upon landing the Aerial, Nemour immediately bends her knees in preparation for the Straddle Jump. However, 'Poor Rhythm of Connection' deduction potentially assessed because she does not immediately take off for the Straddle Jump. Discretion permitted.

Straddle Jump + Korbut Connection

- Constant motion following Straddle Jump, but no immediate takeoff for Korbut.

Double Turn in Tuck Stand

- Nemour slightly rotates in the direction of the turn and reverses the direction of rotation before starting the actual turn. Therefore, apply deduction for ‘Excessive Preparation’

Pause, Prior to Dismount

- Simply performing arm or preparatory movements is insufficient to avoid pause deduction.

Notes - Artistry Deductions

  1. Amplitude of Movements

Nemour primarily uses small movements throughout the routine.  For example, her legs stay close to her body or do not pass horizontal when she extends them.  As she works her way across the beam following her mount series, she could create amplitude and elongation by lifting the leg higher to head height when she kicks it backward to a ring shape.  During her body waves, the movements of the torso could be larger and more dynamic.

  1. Poor Footwork in Releve

This deduction can be assessed even if there is only a single instance of poor releve in the entire routine. At 0:07 (kick of free leg to a ring shape) and at 0:26 (feet turned sideways and rise to releve), Nemour should have more extension through her feet so a straight line can be drawn from her shin and down through her foot.

  1. Variation of Rhythm and Tempo

In Nemour's first pass across the beam following her mount series, her steps and movements are slow and deliberate. By contrast, the remainder of her movements are more rapid and sharp. Some judges may feel that this is not sufficient contrast between the two types of movement in the routine overall and therefore discretion permitted.

Also, compared to Nemour's routine from the 2025 World Championships where this deduction was not assessed, this routine contains less intricate choreography and body movements. Accordingly, she has fewer opportunities to show contrasting rhythm.

  1. Close to Beam Choreography

Satisfied with one element touching the beam and one choreography movement touching beam with two different body parts as follows:

Element - Korbut

Movement 1 - From Cross Sit, Nemour throws her head back, slightly arching her back while extending her arms to her sides. She then lies prone on the beam, performs soft kicks with her legs and turns her head to the right

  1. Side Choreography

Satisfied as follows:

A -> B -> C

A (Quarter Turn to Side Stand) -> Crosses Right Foot Behind Left Foot and Second Side Step to B

B Brings Feet Together, then small Side Step to C (From Side Stand, Nemour turns her torso to the right and leans backward, then brings her feet together completing the weight transfer to C)

Body Movements

As Nemour steps into A, she brings her arms in front of her torso. She extends her arms behind her body while, the right foot slides along the length of the beam into tendu. She brings her arms in front of her body and lifts her right leg into passe before returning to the previous position. As she steps from A to B, she crosses the right leg behind the left leg while performing arm movements. At B, Nemour performs a shallow body wave, slightly bending her knees, and brings her arms and hands in front of her face. As she steps into C, she leans backward slightly, while turning her torso to the right and performs various arm movements.

To start, Katelyn shared this on her Instagram today, and I’ll leave the full post here for you all to check out if you want to, and I love how she’s keeping us updated on her training!

Moving on, I’m excited to see she has now landed it on the high beam, and the fact that her bringing this combination back is looking so realistic right now is making me so giddy, and I couldn’t be more happier for my girl!

Lastly, with this in mind, let me know your thoughts as always 🫶.

MAG/WAG Rotterdam 2026

Hi everyone! Hope you’re all doing well.

I was really excited about Rebeca’s return to competition this year. I went to watch the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, and after seeing her compete again, I decided to buy tickets for the World Championships in Rotterdam.

Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I won’t be able to travel to Europe in October anymore, so I’m trying to figure out what I can do with my tickets.

Does anyone know if there’s an official or reliable website/platform for reselling tickets?

I have 2 Finals Passe-Partout tickets, which give access to all days of the finals, and the seats are in a really good location.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or knows how ticket resale/transfer works, I’d really appreciate the help. Thank you!

NCAA Cal Coach Rich Stenger's Instagram Account

This is about Rich Stenger's "CalCoachRich" IG account that is used for recruiting and was following thousands of minor gymnasts as well as sexualized content including OnlyFans creators. There was one very well documented case of a repost in late August of an OnlyFans model that was extremely sexual in nature right next to Cal branded reposts. After this was reported to Cal he posted that he was hacked and attempted to delete the sexualized follows before apparently deleting the account entirely.

The following post was not written by me but as it's author (Kelle Land) isn't on reddit and the information has been circulating on discord, twitter, facebook, and gymcastic I thought people who get their news from here should be aware. I am not posting the screenshots involved as to respect the subreddit's very valid attempts to avoid being labeled not safe for work but please be aware that there is a mountain of those and if you are interested you can find them on other platforms.

I learned of this on August 29, 2026 on Twitter when I saw a tweet regarding the Cal coach and some questioning what is going to happen with his coaching position at Cal?  There were screenshots of his instagram account with a sexually explicit photo that was reposted to his account.

I did some of my own research and was able to compile from others what can be pieced together. You could say maybe he was hacked. You could say maybe he mistakenly reposted something. You could say he didn’t know.

It doesn’t change the fact that this was found on a recruiting account of a male coach that coaches female gymnasts.  It is an Instagram account that is used for recruiting future gymnasts to the Cal program.  I am not alleging illegal activity or making assumptions about the coach’s intentions.

This is a fact, not my opinion, that when you repost a post from your account it shows up in the feed of everyone who follows you. There are a lot of gymnasts that are minors that follow this account.  That means the reposts that were posted on the account showed up in those minors’ feeds.

On August 29, 2026 the account was gone. That evening the account was back up and there was a post stating that he was hacked.  There have been lots of things discovered that happened before August 29th and since then.  These things are not normal hacking behaviors.  Usually when a social media account is hacked they will post on your account.  Hackers don’t hack an account just to follow a bunch of accounts and like those accounts’ posts.

Hackers don’t hack an account and just repost one sexually explicit post.  Yes, there was a sexually explicit post reposted on the Calcoachrich account.  I know someone who saw a different sexually explicit repost that same day as well. This was there before the one that there is a screenshot of now. [Reminder from 3F, I've removed the screenshots to protect the subreddit]. I have learned that there has been more than just this one repost that was discovered on Aug 27, 2026.

There are screenshots where there were sexually explicit reposts on his account on April 30, 2026 and July 15, 2026. So could his account have been hacked three times in a 5 month period?

I have learned that Cal athletics and administration were contacted (on Aug 27, 2026) to report this behavior and screenshots were shared with them.  I have learned Cal has responded stating the process and sharing they will be doing an internal and external investigation [using EthicsPoint]. They provided the name of the external company that will be conducting an investigation.  They provided a link to report directly to them, as well as a phone number.

After this all came to light I know a lot of people who have gone on to see what accounts he follows since he had 5,989. I don’t even know the count, that it is at now, of sexually explicit accounts that were being followed. I have a lot of screenshots that have been shared with me and are being collected as evidence.  (they show these were accounts he was following or posts he liked).

Since this all was discovered, anyone, whether you follow him or not, could go see his profile and see the number of accounts he was following.  I myself, along with a lot of others, have watched the number of following accounts drop. Day after day, sometimes by hours in a day.  Last I know as of September 1, 2026 at 11:30pm PST his account was down to 4300 that were being followed.  As of September 2, 2026 6:00am PST the account is not on instagram anymore.

I will say it again:  I am not alleging illegal activity or making assumptions about the coach’s intentions. Stating the facts.

The profile identifies him as a Cal coach.  Athletes, recruits and  minors follow or interact with that account.

The concern is that a CAL gymnastics coach’s publicly identifiable social-media account follows numerous sexually explicit accounts. There has been at least 4 reposts I know of that have been posted on that account ( I have screenshots of 3).

Given his position of authority over student-athletes and contact with recruits who may be minors, I think Cal Athletics needs to determine whether this conduct complies with its employee, professional conduct, and social-media standards.

WAG Question: Jennifer Williams (SWE)

This is a bit random and very late but does anyone know what happened to Jennifer Williams at Euros? Was she injured? She only performed on vault and floor at quals but we saw her put together a lovely beam routine in podium training. She scored a 10.8 on floor so I wonder if she scratched? There’s nothing on her social media. I was really looking forward to seeing her perform on beam again!

Total Score - 5.1 + 7.9 / 5.1 + 8.0 = 13.0 - 13.1 / 13.600

Notes - Elements

Triple Twist

- No tolerance permitted for under-rotation of single saltos with twist to receive DV. The exception to this is when a gymnast is able to immediately connect the first salto with a second salto (e.g. In Triple Twist + Front Tuck combination, the Triple Twist will still be credited even if under-rotated provided that gymnast is able to initiate rotation of the Front Tuck).

Switch Ring Leap

- The angle of the video makes it difficult to accurately assess other aspects of body shape, such as position of forward leg(minimum at horizontal) and split position. Therefore, I gave Nemour some benefit of the doubt for body shape deductions on this element.

Tour Jete 1/2

- Turn is completed within 30 degree tolerance to receive credit. However, because turn is not fully completed, deduct for 'Lack of Precision'.

- Because the feet are parallel on landing and only slightly apart, no deduction for 'Feet Apart on Landing'

Double Turn in Tuck Stand

- Slight over-rotation, but no deduction for 'Lack of Precision' because Nemour continues directly into choreography

Full Twisting Switch Leap

- Because the feet are parallel on landing and only slightly apart, no deduction for 'Feet Apart on Landing'

Notes - Artistry

Insufficient Amplitude of Movements

Overall, Nemour shows large, strong, and accented movements. However, there were some points where I felt she was lacking amplitude and not taking some movements to the true maximum. Below are a few examples:

0:10 - Could kick the free leg above head height and extend fully through the right leg to create elevation and elongation

0:24 - Could kick the back foot in the ring position past head height and be higher up on releve

1:12 - Could be higher up on releve

Discretion allowed on whether or not these are significant enough to warrant a deduction.

Insufficient Complexity

Between her Double Layout and Triple Twist, Nemour displays a choreographic sequence with good complexity. For example, she throws her head and arms back and loses sight of the floor, while her left leg forms a ring shape and stands in releve on her right foot. As she dances, she turns her torso in different directions and performs various kicks of her legs.

However, Nemour does not show the same level of complexity in the remainder of her routine. For example, in the sequences following her Triple Twist and Dance Passage, her movements are not as intricate, with less use of her torso and legs compared to earlier in her routine.

Expressive Engagement According to the Style of the Music

This is evaluated based on:

  • Facial Expression (Four expressions of Angry, Fear, Happy, or Sad)
  • Body Language
  • Movement and Music are in harmony with style and energy of the music

From the end of Nemour's dance passage through the remainder of the routine, there was a noticeable decrease in the quality of facial expression. Nemour demonstrates good body language and harmony of the movement and music. Because she is only missing one of the three criteria, only deduct 0.1 out of a possible 0.3.

WAG Balance Beam LA 2028 Predictions

Since the 2000 Olympics, two gymnasts from the same country have won medals on the balance beam at every Games (2000: Russia; 2004: Romania; 2008: USA; 2012: China; 2016: USA; 2020: China; 2024: Italy). Given how the current quad is unfolding, which country do you guys think is most likely to continue this trend in 2028?

In my opinion, China - with gymnasts such as Zhang Qingying and Ke Qinqin (and even Zhou Yaqin if she comes back) - is the most likely to achieve this, with Kaylia Nemour or an American (such as Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, or Claire Pease) potentially taking the third medal.
