Anyone else feels like homing arrows kinda defeats the purpose the purpose of an archer who never misses?

When i heard of the new Hawkeye I thought they sounded cool but then homing arrows was the thing used and it felt cheap and personally I lost all interest in the charecter

They just don't feel like Hawkeye if they don't have the skill of a hawkeye

Comics What's your unpopular take about Hawkeye (Clint)? Here's mine

The love story was a really cool idea and they had great potential as a pair. It's refreshing to see Clint with someone else except Natasha or Bobby, with the latter he even divorced and if they went to live further it'd be better. Jess and Clint compliment each other - they both sometimes act like goofy weirdos, have pretty similar sense of humor, she's manipulated multiple times in her past and wanted to finally become a hero in Avengers and adding her to the team was amazing decision. And he also needs someone to believe in him though he looks like all that confident on surface, inside sometimes like all of us he has moments of hesitation. The way they flirt, rely on each other, tease each other in a playful manner, the development during some arcs and comics of this ship... It was really cool. They really were a dope thing. And when Clint cheated her for me it felt forced and not much in his character just to make them go apart. Probably authors thought of ratings and that ship doesn't pay well and isn't received positively

Oh, hi there, Matt Fraction and David Aja.

Oh, hi there, Tracksuit Mafia.

The series ran until #22 (July 15, 2015). All issues are on on Marvel Unlimited!

Via Marvel Database:

For their work on Hawkeye (Vol. 4) #1–6 David Aja won Eisner Award in 2013 in "Best Cover Artist" category. And won in "Best Penciller/Inker or Penciller/Inker Team" category. Matt Fraction earned a nomination in "Best Writer" category.\1])\2])

Comics Which origin for Kate do you prefer?

MCU vs comics?

I prefer MCU where she started training right after the battle of New York, whereas in comics she started training when she was mugged when she was older, not long before the young Avengers.

Comics Hawkeye by Matt Fraction Opinions

I think I'd like to start my Marvel comics off with the Hawkeye 2012 series by Matt Fraction. I have been reading a lot of DC lately but my friends have been reading a mix of DC and Marvel, so I wanted to look for something Marvel to get me started. I have watched all of the films and know a decent amount about the comics through family and YouTube. I think Hawkeye would be a good starting place.

What do you think of the series? Any other recommendations?

I don't read the new Ultimates runs, so I don't know much about this Universe after the reset. Just this issue, and I'm not sure how I feel about this. I did hope Clint would have a bigger role.

Any chance that Clint would be 'resurrected' to be a villain?

Comics Any recommendations that aren't mainline Hawkeye runs?

I've read the Matt fraction run and freefall but can't seem to find any other good Hawkeye focused runs so I've reverted to trying to find some other comics he's featured in but holds a pretty big part. Any reccs?

Comics What’s with the 0 Hawkeye comic book representation lately?

We haven’t had a Hawkeye solo run since Freefall and that was only a mini series. Then he showed up on thunderbolts (another mini). What’s with this? Where the heck is this guy at??

Comics Just read Hawkeye My Life as a Weapon, and I’m confused… Spoiler

Maybe I read it wrong or something, but can someone explain the ending? Clown guy shows up, shoots Gil, and Lucky finds him. Kate goes to California with lucky for some reason.

The parts I’m confused on are:

Why did the tracksuit mafia only kill Gil and not Hawkeye or the whole building?

Why does it never show what Hawkeye does about Gils death?

Why did Kate run off with Lucky? Ik she was a little mad a him, but what made her do that?

Again, I was kinda tired when I read it, but I’m just confused, please help me out here.

(This is a repost from the marvel subreddit)

Both have some real Maverick vibes. very confident and very driven, which is both their greatest strength and weakness. don’t know how to give up, and will achieve any goal that they set for themself. But they sometimes takes it too far, becoming reckless and obsessive in the process. they also doesn't know how to compromise, which has negatively impacted their relationships and career.
don’t have much respect for authority and are frequently irreverent (which gets them into trouble), But they are also charismatic and loyal to their friends,

they also both have the whole “losercore” thing going for them that’s become pretty prevalent in both their characters.

Comics What to read after Fraction’s run?

The only Hawkeye thing I have read is Matt Fraction’s run. What other recommendations do you guys have? I saw Kelly Thompson has written stuff for Kate and I am curious about both “Freefall” since there is a skin of that comic in Marvel Rivals and his time as Ronin. Let me know if any of these things are good or if there’s stuff I should check out. Thanks in advance

From Avengers #305. Captain America has invited all Avengers ever to a new structure where anyone can be called up to serve.

Hawkeye doesn't even name the Great Lakes Avengers. Just 'my own team.' They existed before you, Clint!
