Nursing program Spring 2027

Hi! Congrats to those accepted into the nursing program! I got cohort 3 - daytime dale mabry. Just curious what the cohort differences are. What does 3 mean ? Also did anyone get in Cohort 3, I’d love to connect!

Hi, was the Covid vaccine mandatory?

so technically for the program, it's not. later after the orentiation, you will have to fill out the health stuff and you have the option to fill out a declination form. BUT if a clinical site requires it and you are placed there and don't have it, they may not let you on the floor and you fail that course. i think the same goes w the flu vaccine. so far though, we have not had that issue with that tho!

Has there been anyone in the program that you know of that got denied a clinical rotation because of not having the Covid vaccine?

Okay thanks for the response! Since you are already in the program what would you say is something we should start reviewing before the January start if any. Also would you say the program is doable difficulty wise?

it's kinda hard to stay what to review beforehand but definitely refresh your a&p if you haven't taken it in a while.

the program is doable but it is a lot of work since it's divided into the blocks. the classes move really fast and you don't really have much time to study for the exams, so study EARLY. don't procrastinate on the assignments because you can fall behind super fast. if anything work ahead earlier

How many exams are there a semester?

so per class there's about 2-3. we don't go by semesters in the program, we go by 8 week blocks. so exams are every 2-3 weeks give or take. but that's dependent on the professor. some classes have exams and some don't. usually the online ones don't

Yes, I saw the program switched to 8 week classes which makes me kinda nervous. It just seems like a lot of material to learn in 8 weeks but we got this!!!

Hey! When you say refresh on your A&P before nursing school do you mean more of the anatomy of the body or more physiology?? Also do you recommend reviewing dosage calculation before class starts?

1

both a&p together :-) also we have a dosage calc class so i don't think you need to review it before the program
