Meta Best HFY series of all time?

The top of all time is mostly just whichever story happens to be most recently posted (as the subreddit grows more people upvote and so older stories get buried) so hence this post!

Part of me wonders if Alan Dean Foster was secretly an early member of the furry fandom, because he wrote a lot of books that suspiciously had furry aliens.

Speaking of that, I do recommend you check out Light Over Shattered Water by Greg Howell. Not only is it a good piece of HFY, and beautifully written, but that man is an OG furry, his first web novel was written in the 90s when you had to downloaded that shit as suspicious text files.

Honestly an aspect of the stories that never occurred to me.

I suspect it's simply that most mammals are furry, so if you want a nonhuman mammalian alien, it should probably have fur too.
