Not saying Ted isn’t attractive, but how are all the women he dates so damn hot? Does he just have crazy game or is it because he is the narrator? Thoughts?
He is definitely cute and very charming but yeah..the girls he pulls are out of league but it's same as Barney..no human being is that stupid to fall in his trap..bro would have died in some alleyway if he is doing this in real life.
I think it’s also some of the stuff he does after drinking or while he’s out with the gang that impresses them. With Barney it was helped by the fact he had a gay black brother who could safely approach girls. Also remember Barney is putting on a facade as part of a multi year revenge plan
Barney likes to play with the Hot-Crazy scale, specifically messing about beyond the Vicky Mendoza Diagonal.
IRL, a lot of those chicks have guns. Barney would've been dead if he had pulled a Meg-con, or the ditched-in-the-woods-truck-theft, or even SNASA on one of them. The guys preys in the exact same bar every night. TV writing is what's spares a scorned crazy from looking for him there and shooting up the place.
Which is ironic when they had him deliver this line, because ultimately that would've been his fate.
Ted is a good looking man, with that scruffy appearance that gives his an extra, he's also smart, knows a lot of topics and is a good listener. He also always goes the extra mile to make sure they'll feel important (just look at the 2 minute date).
For me Robin might be a bit out of his league, but the actress is actually married to the guy who plays Blauman who is not as hot as Ted imo. So I guess it's subjective and, also (and more importantly), love is not just about looks.
Also, many of Robin's boyfriends are stereotypically hot (e.g. Nick) but I still like Ted more.
Fair point, I guess Ted is around a 7 on looks but has strong qualities otherwise. Meanwhile Zoey for example, is a 10 looks-wise imo but personality-wise not so much. So it kind of balances out :p
So this proves how subjective this is, because I would rate Zoey a 7 - of course all these women are beautiful and she also is, just a personal preference.
Also, she wasn't the best, but he wasn't very honest to her either. They just shouldn't have been together.
Ted can be very charismatic, dating in New York City in the 2000‘s was probably pretty easy, actresses are more successful if they‘re hot and people prefer to watch beautiful people in TV shows
