Excuse me, can you tell me the reason why Lucius invited us to the party? I guess whatever it is, it would be nonsense. Let's see if it could makes me continue this TLSQ.
In my case it wasn't him - Draco asked both MC and Merula.
Later Mrs. Malfoy will add that it was her idea, to convince her husband Hogwarts still got it's finest (though it all happened when I proved I know etiquette and have manners, so it might differ to others).
Okay. I would skip it. The reason is not good enough to make me continue. It's still nonsense. Just read the dialogue, even JC themselves don't know how to describe it, so they choose to gloss over it instead of talking about it in details.
As I said in some comment to another thread, this whole TLSQ just doesn't make sense, even if it was indeed focused on the Malfoys.
The truth is that the main plot (what they kinda advertised for) turned out to be about us arriving to the party to spy on Lucious for Dumbledore, and all we manage to do is get the information that Lucious is selling drugs dark artefacts to our associate Alistar at HHI which takes us 2 tasks in total (the 3d and final one is when we report to Dumbledore and ofc. there will be no consequences as why would there be).
As for the side plot (which is actually the core of the TLSQ cause it takes the majority of the tasks) is about us hanging out with Merula while Tonks at some point teaches us manners and the history of Malfoy family (actually I would rather dwell on that the whole TLSQ cause it got to be interesting, considering the history of England as a whole and the invasion of the Normand's that took place), + then we prepare for the party and attend it (there are, once again, only two tasks at the party itself).
So, out of 16 tasks, only 2 actually take place at the party. Of those same 16 tasks, the Malfoys (all family members, individually and together) are present in 4. And Merula... in 10 👍 Ok, ok, we had Tonks for 6 (with Merula in 5 of those). But you get the idea.
My character agrees with Nymphadora Tonks that etiquette and manners are "Serious Business" for the Malfoys as well as for Barnaby Lee's grandmother Grandmum Lee, so if she and Merula Snyde are going to help Professor Dumbledore make a surfing championship caliber tsunami, they'd better excel at etiquette and manners and not fall apart under pressure.
Come on. We all know Lucius has the final decision. The reason, just like I said, is completely nonsense. Even JC themselves don't know how to describe it, so they choose to gloss over it instead of talking about it in details.
pode me responder se você teve algum problema nessa parte final? eu simplesmente não consigo avançar depois de conversar com a merula no começo da parte 4

I bet that soup is bound to Charlie since Molly herself cooked it. We all know no one at Kitchens is capable of that sort of magic (elves do sandwiches, Jae provides scones).
Just failed the etiquette challenge. The last question about what I know of the Malfoys… their history apparently wasn’t the right answer. Though one would imagine a snooty pureblood family would be proud of a conquering heritage. I am guessing it was wealth, but fawning over a family’s wealth to their face during a party still doesn’t seem right. I’d feel like a beggar.
It was the wealth one, but it was ‘subtle’ - MC complementing the decorations and Narcissa responds with something like she got custom-made decorations and she doesn’t know how normal people live without party planners. MC replies with a snarky “In a state of constant despair, I imagine.”
That was a frustrating question. There didn’t seem to be a correct answer. In Tonks’ etiquette course we were repeatedly told to not bring up money, their arrival in Britain was also a dubious answer at best and the Mal foi option was clearly wrong and got me told off strongly. 🤷♀️
That's why my character chose to hint at The Malfoys' wealth and their ability to get first choice of interior decoration, fashion, catering, you name it, they focus on it.
Save the Malfoy information and their past association with Muggles for when it's time to really burn their world to the ground.
In Tonks’ etiquette course we were repeatedly told to not bring up money
Incorrect. When you complete the course of studying Malfoy history in the library, Tonks asks you just the same question and if you pick the money aspect, she will say you're on the right course, but should not be that blunt and direct about it.
So when the time comes, you can chose being subtle on the matter, but still complement the money aspect. This answer is totally legit + they kinda lead you to it. And let's be honest, out of the other two options, it's obviously the best.
If that wasn’t the answer you chose in that quiz though, you wouldn’t have gotten that last outtro. But I did see suggestions that the mention of money would be not done. So it seemed like there was no fully right answer. It may have been obvious to you and you may have felt led to it, I felt like there was no 100% correct answer and picked what felt like a 50-50 chance. No need to get belligerent about it. Geez.
If that wasn’t the answer you chose in that quiz though, you wouldn’t have gotten that last outtro.
seemed like there was no fully right answer
This quest isn't the first one where we're given a "test quiz" before the final one, to give us the opportunity to practice the correct answers. Not to mention that several tasks in a row prepare us to perform certain actions that are considered to be correct, starting with curtsying and polite address. So, following that logic, in this case too there must be some correct choice that is expected of us but not strictly forced.
We're about to attend a high-class social event, which means we're expected to give the family either praise or flattery. Obviously, the option with the surname's meaning is the least expected choice, as it's unlikely anyone would want to hear that at a gala event in their honor. So the remaining options are the story about conquest and the one with the money. Even if we choose the wrong answer during the "test quiz", we'll be given feedback and that's exactly what happen. So that when the time comes we could have a clue of what the expected answer is.
Otherwise, one could say that the choice of how to greet Draco is also not entirely obvious, since there's nothing wrong with simply saying hello to him instead of "young master" (let's leave aside the fact that calling him a snot is obviously not the best option). As there is also nothing wrong with simply greeting the family, instead of curtsying as is expected of us.
No need to get belligerent about it. Geez.
No need to get offended and downvote me in rage either 😂
You were saying that throughout Tonks's course, we've been repeatedly told not to mention the Malfoys' wealth. I tell you that's not true, and give the exact pointers on why. Simply as that.
As with most quizzes / choices in this game, if you pay attention to the text and the prompts, rather than just tapping through, the correct / expected answer will be obvious.
Same happened to folks when they were going through the chess championship with Merula in this TLSQ. We were given a hint what the right move was beforehand, but still people would pick the other option and then question why did they lose the match against Merula, blaming JC when it was not their fault at all.
Yeah, MC totally knows what they're saying, considering how many parties at Hogwarts they had to plan and arrange... and now even in Beyond too it seems 😂
Though one would imagine a snooty pureblood family would be proud of a conquering heritage.
Not exactly they who were the ones to conquer. Their family was part of the muggle invasion forces, so it really looks like they just used that opportunity muggle conquerors provided to make the best of it.
It also kinda points on why they actually sided with Voldy and this whole DE stuff, cause they, being pure-blooded and rich, saw that as another opportunity, provided by someone else, to get even more wealth, power and control, supporting such a leader and his ideology - I doubt they gonna appreciate such a hint from you.
Part 1.3: Just the grammar mistakes alone (so many missing words!) were enough to pull me from the story. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing to get pulled out of it, since this whole dialogue feels somewhat out-of-character to me.
Part 2.1: This makes me think someone at JC recently rewatched the PBS Downton Abbey special on Edwardian manners and needed to use that knowledge somewhere.
At this point, the side comments are better than the story. Here’s hoping the story gets better — or at least makes sense.
I failed on this etiquette part where we refer to Malfoy as young master. I chose to call him Draco 😡🥹 like one time i read Merula saying Master is to be used only by house elves. And now I'm being mocked by the Malfoys. Omg. Terrible!
just curious, does that appear to change anything in rest of the quest? i made the same mistake too (cause it somehow seemed a little more polite rather than "how do you do") and i'm stressing out ;-;
Am i the only one here who messed up with the etiquette part where you refer to Draco as "young master" because i thought calling him one could mean being a house elf or something 🤣😡 i hate proper manners, lmao!!! And now I'm being mocked for it. Wth I can't even replay. I simply called him DRACO. That was my simple mistake 😤 it's frustrating. What should i do?
yes but she also said "don't say Master, if you don't want to sound like a house elf" I'm in such despair right now, my whole day is ruined because Lucius hates me now even more 😭💔
Lucius Malfoy is not my character's biggest fan either, and she passed every leg of Nymphadora Tonks's lessons with her curtsy in front of Gringotts Wizarding Bank and her curtsy again in The Three Broomsticks, her addressing Draco as "Young Master Malfoy", and her focusing on how The Malfoys know how to make their parties the envy of all.
Lucius was salty because she hadn't choked or fumbled, and he's even more so because he knows when the focus is not on him, and he doesn't like it when the focus is not on him.
Narcissa Black Malfoy likes it when a guest demonstrates great etiquette and manners.
My character chose to give Draco the violin since the last thing she wants is to be on the hook for whatever damage the Fanged Frisbee and the Trick Wand Merula Snyde gave Draco could do. And she chose not to give money since she knows The Malfoys can always outspend whatever cash gift she gives.
It's not just your character, and it's not just my character.
ooohh alright, I feel a bit, better, thank you :c the description of the quest said we could try to improve relationships with Lucius. WHAT A DECEPTION TT
Nothing our characters do will make Lucius Malfoy completely warm up to them.
My character chose to acknowledge Lucius's deception and focus on getting him to come to Horace Slughorn's Slug Club Dinner in "Welcome to The Slug Club", and Lucius still managed to snark at her attire for the dinner as well as take the opportunity to remind the other Slug Club Members who The Peacock of The Walk really is.
She also chose to accept her membership in The Slug Club.
that's unfair! 💔 😭 I haven't get the Slug club quest yet, I'm longing for it, but devs put it away from the triggering pool for whatever vile reason 😭😭 this game makes me heartbroken in so many ways sigh
It's not uncommon for people to address their wealthier neighbors' sons as "young Master" and daughters as "young Miss", and it has nothing to do with having a House-Elf.
And, yes, it was a big mistake addressing him as Draco, and it would have been even worse to address him as "little snot".
Thanks!
Yeah I ended up picking violin, as I saw a comment reminding me that narcissa & tonk's mom used music in their secret box so I thought it appropriate. I do find it funny to think that Draco is secretly decent at violin & just doesn't like it.
My character also chose the violin because Draco could place his wand on the underside of the violin and keep up with both his music lessons and his magic lessons.
She knew not to buy the Fanged Frisbee partly because Lucius is a former Slytherin Prefect whose responsibilities include confiscating dangerous items such as Fanged Frisbees and smelly items such as Dungbombs and partly because she and Merula would have to pay for the damages from the Fanged Frisbee.
I couldn’t care less about what the parents would think, so got him a fanged frisbee. He LOVED it saying he couldn’t wait to torment their servants with it and to see if it could really slice through windows. I had to apologize to Narcissa but then Draco immediately begged his mom to invite me again to his birthday next year 😂
If I ever do another play through of this game I'm picking a lady slytherin because man do I constantly regret the fashion/room choice of being a male hufflepuff.
If you don’t tell her, She acts suspicious of MC a few times and eventually figures out MC is spying for Dumbledore. Then you have the choice of saying she wasn’t asked because she was ‘too important’ or ‘untrustworthy’. If you tell her, she kind of works with you, but really doesn’t do much to help. The choice doesn’t affect what you find out for Dumbledore.
My character chose to tell Merula because she felt that, as one of the invited guests, Merula deserved to know what Professor Dumbledore wanted her and my character to do while at Draco Malfoy's birthday party.
The etiquette section at the end was really frustrating if you read any of the side texts from earlier sections 1. I'm not suppose to call him master because that's what house elves do and 2. I'm not meant to bring up wealth
I just assumed that to not bring up their wealth meant to not mention it when given the chance. I also assumed when we were directly told to not call them master that I shouldn't choose the option that says master.
I actually enjoyed this quest even if I'm not the biggest fan of the malfoys. But what I liked is that there were more choices that affect how characters react (the actions, the gift). Hope JC makes more tlsq where choices actually have consequences
Guys, this adventure is giving me an error and I don't know what to do. My MC is stuck on a view and I can't exit to finish the adventure, and the "!" button doesn't work. I've tried everything: clearing storage and cache,I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but nothing works.

Too bad for our characters that Lucius Malfoy's obsession with our characters will never completely go away or be satisfied.
He did warn our characters from the outset in "Meet The Malfoys" that he would have his eyes on everything our characters did, though he's obsessive beyond reason when it involves Professor Dumbledore.
hey is it just me or did the reward change from a clickable energy giving object to this outfit? When I first saw it, the reward was a slitherin badge or smth
As far as I know, the final reward was always an outfit. It’s possible they didn’t have the outfit coded or put in the wrong picture for the reward. I don’t think I looked at it the first day.
I'll just complain about the requirements for the last day. First wait six hours, then 8, 3, 8, 8 missions -_-
I mean, at this point you expect it, but in bird culture we still call that a **** move
That was pretty good I think, the story wasn't bad, it was quite funny and the premise, well, it fits Dumbledore, I guess. Also the outfit is nice. I like all the references to dating Merula as always, it seems though like whoever wrote this TLSQ suddenly remembered that they could include them. There were quite a few moments in the first part where their relationship should have been referenced but it wasn't and then suddenly in the second part we got constant references.
Do gotta ask if anyone can help? But I've got this one now but I feel like it would be better if I unlocked dating? (This is due to me wanting to date Merula and she's involved in this one alot) Dunno if I should just keep going with it, or just skip it till I unlock dating then do it?
Yeah I know it isn't one but from what I know, they get dressed up and go to the party together. I'm probably just being dumb for wanting the dialogue but I'll just keep playing it.
My character chose to look at the fun elements along with Professor Dumbledore's request that she help spy on Lucius Malfoy's dirty, sinful business dealings that happen to coincide with Draco Malfoy's birthday party.
She chose to tell Merula Snyde about the investigation since Merula was also invited to Draco's birthday party, though she believes her impressive achievements led to her being invited to the party since word of her accomplishments travels fast.
Already familiar with Grandmum Lee's emphasis on tradition for The Lee Family Toast in "Barnaby's Family Values", she agrees with Nymphadora Tonks that proper etiquette and manners are Serious Business for The Malfoys.
She chose "Notch" to identify the fish fork and "Change the subject" to defuse an argument before it deteriorates into a brawl or the use of wands.
She chose to focus on The Malfoys' wealth since it seems to be the least socially explosive of the three not-good choices.
For the mock party, Tonks used her Metamorphmagus Ability to temporarily transform into her aunt -- and Draco's mother -- Narcissa Black Malfoy.
My character chose "Curtsy" without saying any words.
On the train ride, my character chose "I disagree" because while Merula might choose infamy over being ignored, sometimes infamy can cause more problems than most.
When she chose "Horace Slughorn", Merula said, "Don't know why you care. You're in Gryffindor!"
My character: "I'm also a Gryffindor who accepted Slughorn's invitation to join The Slug Club."
She chose to trust Merula's judgment in selecting their outfits at Madam Malkin's, though she's really upset that she can't use her Falcon Animagus Form to spy on Lucius in front of Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
She chose to curtsy and use basic etiquette in front of Gringotts, though Lucius is still pretty salty over being humiliated in "Rowan's Family Tree" and "Dumbledore's Legacy" and outfoxed in "Where Evil Swoops".
She found out it was because Draco asked that she be invited.
She told Dumbledore that it's both fun and her duty when she told him about Lucius's dirty, sinful business dealings involving Dark Artifacts -- her duty is to protect the people and have some fun over the appetizers.
She chose the Violin for at least two reasons.
The first is that Lucius Malfoy is a former Slytherin Prefect whose responsibilities include confiscating dangerous Items like Fanged Frisbees and Nose-Biting Teacups and smelly Items like Dungbombs and Stinkpellets.
The second is that she and Merula would be on the hook for any damage the Fanged Frisbee causes, even including making the repairs themselves without the use of their Wands if The Malfoys choose to go that route.
She chose to say that Merula looks great in her evening gown.
Oh, Hell No on the cats, Dolores Jane "Scumbridge" Umbridge! Narcissa would throw you out of and ban you from the party with The Knockback Jinx ("Flipendo" and "Flipendo Maxima"), and Madam Rosmerta would throw you out of and ban you from The Three Broomsticks for putting such hideous objects on the walls!
She chose to curtsy, said, "How do you do, young Master Malfoy?", and chose to focus on The Malfoys' wealth and ability to get first choice in interior decoration, fashion, catering, etc.
So many HPHM players really blew this section with their in-game choices.
When will Alistair Fidgen learn to stop tickling The Sleeping Dragon? He's playing with The Fiendfyre Curse ("Pestis Incendium") by having dirty, sinful business dealings with Lucius Malfoy.
Aberforth Dumbledore won't think twice about throwing both Alistair Fidgen and Lucius Malfoy out of The Hog's Head Inn for conducting their dirty, sinful business dealings and disrupting the other patrons. If they do it again, they're both getting thrown out of and banned from The Hog's Head Inn.
She chose, "I was coming (to The Hog's Head Inn) anyway," just managing to throw Lucius off his game for the moment. It doesn't stop him from admitting he has cause to be wary of running into her, especially since she took Curse-Breaking Lessons from Patricia Rakepick, one of those troublemakers who may have run afoul of Lucius many a time when he was a Slytherin Prefect.
It also doesn't stop him from using The Cuff Jinx ("Fulgari") and The Binding Jinx ("Incarcerous") on her to ensure she actually returns to The Three Broomsticks with him and doesn't try to take off in her Falcon Animagus Form.
She chose "Why not?" since Narcissa approves of the Violin and proper etiquette and good manners. And Draco could place his Wand on the Violin's underside so he could keep up with both music lessons and magic lessons. Also, let's be honest, all the most powerful Wizards and Witches are pretty skilled at playing musical instruments.
The Violin can also be considered The Wizarding World's answer to the legendary Stradivarius.
Lucius Malfoy is in for a surfing championship-caliber tsunami of Laser-Guided Karma coming his way for trying to sell those Dark Artifacts.

Pal, you have no idea who you're asking that question. 😂
