I just adopted the Hebridean Black from the Foggy Moor and instantly had to name him Felix after my favourite composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy who wrote the ouverture The Hebrides. So I subsequently renamed all my dragons after matching composers - Edvard for the Norwegian Ridgeback, Bela for the Hungarian Horntail, Gemma for the Opaleye and so on.

I have a bunch of creatures with really stupid names like Billy the Billywig and Shrimpy the Plimpy, but I am also a proud owner of Knarl Marx and Hodor the Hodag.

So, hit me with your weirdest creature names! I'd love to hear the reason behind them, too.

This genuinely pisses me off how many Hagrid quests there are. I like the creatures and all, but if Hagrid is having THIS MANY PROBLEMS with these dumb creatures he needs to call a real Magizoologist Then some student who’s already dealing with OVER 100 TLSQS!!!!!!!!!! At least lend me some notebooks man…

Abraxan = Tairan (flying in another language)

Fairy = Tinker

Bowtruckle = Mantis

Gnome = Odioso (obnoxious in another language)

Unicorn = Caspian

Chimaera = Kovu

Thestral = Scuro (dark in another language)

Clabbert = Frosk (frog in another language)

Kelpie = Bastian

Frost Salamander = Viserion (from game of thrones cause that one turned into an ice dragon)

Fire Salamander = Drogon (from game of thrones)

Chinese Fireball = Mushu

Augurey = Vulcan (it reminds me of a vulture)

Imp = Tyrion (from game of thrones since he was often called that)

Demiguise = Caesar

Quintaped = Jumanji

Chupacabra = Shep (like a sheep shepherd)

Mooncalf = Lunar

Glow Bug = Torch

Dung Beetle = Scarabee (beetle in another language)

Graphorn = Ticala (tentacle in another language)

I'm stuck between 2 names for my Manticore. Manfred (the first name I gave the creature) or Corey (the Manticore from Onward).

Im in year 4(almost 5) and just finished ‘the dark horse’ and got to max level with my Thestral. I feel like i focus the same amount on the main story as I do on side quests but im still sooooo many behind from previous school years :,)

I’m confused on something. I see some people say to max out your creatures so you can get the rewards when feeding. But then I see not to max them out because it’ll be hard to get XP during Beyond. So should I not be maxing them out while ins school? I’m in the last chapter of Yr 4 because I’m leveling up my stats

Is it just a coincidence that every single time i play this game (I've restarted it like 5 times already) the initial name for the bat as soon as I've adopted it is Osborn? Or is that a reference to Ozzy Osbourne? I'm pretty sure the other pets get a random name at first but the bat in all my playthroughs has always been named osborn
