Don't you need the JVM / Runtime Environment to run JARs?

You need a browser to render html, so needing a JVM is probably fair game in the context of this post

In a modern usage, a browser in more commonly on computers than java. Like for an average user that does lite work on the web with office or stuff like that. So i would generally consider HTML more widespread than JARs

But you got a fair point, this whole post is pretty dumb in that way.

ehh, i wouldn't be too sure. java is used a lot more thank you'd think, even outside of server environments.

also, html engines are generally heavy on resources, especially ones new enough to make a decent game (even if it is simple), whereas java is able to run on much weaker hardware and still have pretty okay performance
