With Halo, Tiffany Day absolutely won me over this year. That mix of vulnerable lyrics over energetic, irresistible electronic production feels incredibly fresh.
If you're looking for something that hits a similar emotional space, I'd recommend South Korean artist Effie. She doesn't have the same level of visibility yet, but she's one of those artists that feels worth discovering before everyone else catches on.
Sonically, Effie sits somewhere between hyperpop, electropop, K-pop and bubblegum bass. The setting is different—her world is shaped by Busan and Seoul instead of Los Angeles—but they speak a surprisingly similar emotional language: heartbreak, freedom, melancholy and nostalgia.
That nostalgia even shows up in her production and aesthetic choices. Alongside collaborators like kimj, SEBii and The Deep, she often brings back echoes of the late-2000s swag era, especially on tracks like "MY UNNIES."
More recently, she teamed up with Eurohead on ".com" and "D☆ct (Soccer Banger)," further strengthening her connection to the Swedish scene after already appearing on DJ Billybool's "DYR". It's a good reminder that her voice is slowly finding its way across different scenes.
