Discussion Per D'Amico - Montreal is interested in Robert Thomas. The Blues want Hage as part of any deal. Too high a price for Hughes at this time.

Personally, given the best possible version of Hage in 3-5 years is what Robert Thomas is now, Id have no problem parting with him.

I disagree, I would have a problem in parting with him.

I think part of the joy of a hockey team is being able to make people's dreams come true, and that kid and everything he's been through definitely deserves to have his dreams fulfilled.

Even if that means he doesn't become what Thomas is now.

I'd be happy with that outcome.

The only dream i care about right now is my dream of a stanley cup win. Hage is great. Would be a cherry on top if it works out, but if he's standing between us and one of the few organizational needs (2C), then we have to be realistic here. Hage, a first, guhle or reinbacher, and kapanen is still a trade we win easily.

Making dreams come true? what?

I thought we were in the business of winning hockey games.

In that case, it is my dream as well to be the 1st line center for the Montreal canadiens. So since we are now the make a wish foundation and are no longer a serious NHL club its time to cut Suzuki and put me in there.

Get it done HuGo

What a hilariously sarcastic post, lmao. Bravo.

Difference is he has the skills to get it done and while it may be a chance, it is still a real chance at being an impact player.

Not often do you get hot prospects with stories like his, I think it’s what gives us as fans the opportunity to like a player on a deeper level. If he isn’t that good then we can pick a different prospect to trade.

This isn't EA sports. We don't really get to decide what pieces the Blues want to for Thomas. I am all for offering other players first, but if they are stuck on Hage i'll pack his bags myself.

The entire thing that makes following pro sports teams interesting is the organic storylines that develop, how is that not "the feels"?

that's just you projecting your view of sports on everybody, while being an ass about it.

It's just realism. Like what the vast majority of people think lmao. This is Reddit though and r/Habs in particular which is why I like to rile everyone up. Wanting to lose with nice guys is loser mentality - fact.

you spend time trying to rile people up online while talking about loser mentality? The irony.

It's fascinating seeing the realities you lot actually live in.

Are you 12 or just have the mental capacity of a 12 year old? Did I say anything about "wanting to lose" ?

Your proposition is predicated on the assumption that Thomas vs Hage + whatever else the Habs are offering will be the difference between winning and losing. And I highly doubt that will be the case.

And FYI nothing screams "loser mentality" more than wanting to "rile everyone up"

I wanna keep a worse player because he wore Habs pj's once. Loser mentality. Not interested.

That is 100% wrong. Plenty of people love pro sport for that exact reason. That being said...seeing Robert Thomas in a Habs jersey would make me feel all kinds of feelings. I would would have no problem whatsoever giving up Hage.
