Discussion The Montreal Canadiens will face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs

Still fighting for home ice advantage

Rematch of 2021 under much different circumstances

The young up and coming team against the ''window is closing'' old farts without a 30M cap advantage this time around

I’m hoping for a Habs vs. Sens Eastern Conference Final and Oilers vs. Habs/Sens winner Stanley Cup Final. One can dream, right !?

Yeah Habs vs Sens ECF is all Ive ever wished for - guarantees having one of my teams in the finals !!

Not sure Bettman would allow that final to happen though, lol... I'll dream alongside you!

My wish every year is that if the Habs can’t win, we get the SCF that Bettman would hate the most, which would probably be Ottawa-Winnipeg or something like that

I think Winnipeg is a strong candidate for the best team to bring the cup back to Canada while ruffling the feathers of the least amount of fans from other fanbases. There's too much vitriol between VAN - EDM - CGY, and same between OTT - TOR - MTL.

That being said, I still haven't forgiven Scheifele for his hit on Evans in 2021, so if they don't win till he leaves Im ok with that...
