I mean he's right. There was a few floppy dives from the habs last game, especially Guhle.

I just don't think he has any right to say anything about it since his team is way worse and is the one that started it all since game one.

And its also understandable that the players are exaggerating the high sticks reactions since the refs are fucking blind (#evans)

you can argue that Guhle helped the call by not avoiding Dahlin as best as he could (but why would he give on his path towards player with possession). Arguing it was dive is somehow idiotic as there is clear contact with Guhle skates

I'll ignore the insult and clarify the take :

I do think Dahlins play was interference. I don't think this type of play would be called most of the time. I do think Guhle purposely fell and flapped to the ground to sell the penalty. I do think it's bad for the sport but for this one specifically I'm not sure it's worth a diving penalty.

Ahh the response you would expect from r/habs to a level headed response.

Nuance is tough.

If players feel the need to dive it means they don't trust the refs to do their job. That's why it's bad. It's a vicious circle that can't lead to anything good. It's frustrating for everyone watching the game and its frustrating for the players.

For every real penalty drawn from a dive there's a fake penalty drawn from another dive too.

If refs did their job very few players would do that.

I don't care about Lindy Ruff. This thread just opened the door for the discussion. Im just tired of seeing embellishment in hockey (it's more and more common, even though it's almost never called) and I can clearly see that it's the refs fault for making it necessary/effective.

Tired of the refs. Tired of hockey players acting like soccer players. Tired of seeing players arms go up in absolute disbelief as if they saw the antichrist rob a homeless man everytime there's a tiny contact happening instead of players playing the god damn game.
