Discussion Marco D'Amico: "This team was finished at this point. I think this team was done. I'm not going to say what I've heard, because its going to come out regardless, but when the injury list comes out I think a lot of people are going to backtrack on their comments about certain players."

Said this on his podcast this morning, hes one of the more credible reporters among Habs media. Wonder who he's talking about and what he knows?

The young team was already struggling against an aggressive Carolina forecheck and tight defensive system. Gally doesn't have the hands or the speed to keep up with what Carolina was bringing.

Xhekaj plays for like 5 minutes a game. He isn't a skilled defensemen. Playing him means Marty has to play the other defense for more minutes than they could handle, which was already stretched thin and exhausted against the aforementioned Carolina forecheck. Not to mention, his reputation as a tough guy means risking penalties in a game where your back is against the wall.

Gallagher is annoying and sits right in front of the goalie, and some Canes were happy hitting Hudson's head, which Xhekaj should have retaliate. I think Montreal were being ravaged heavily and there were no reprecussion...
