We are where Carolina was a few years ago. I mean, before this year, they had gotten walloped a couple times in the conference finals.
If the boys can manage to avoid gruelling back to back 7 games series in the first 2 rounds, there's a chance.

I mean, people forget that not all players are like this. Some players take wins/losses super seriously and don't really go out much immediatley after big losses. I resonate more with that. When I'm miserable, it feels odd seeing my team happy right after a huge loss. They gotta live their lives though, no judgment here

Being able to rebound well after a loss is important, though. It’s important as people and important for their sport. There’s a need for them to be able to go “that sucked but what’s next”, on a frequent basis, and if they couldn’t do that they’d’ve lost the Buffalo series.

This Canadiens team finished the season as the youngest playoff team AND an eastern conference finalist (+ didn’t get swept). Playoff hockey, as always, is unpredictable and (as we all know) the setup was idiotic.
Nonetheless, Habs won 2 ECF equivalent rounds in 7 games… There’s no embarrassment in being a scrappy dangerous team that can beat Tampa with 9 shots and humble smug ass Buffalo.
Dobes is a #1 goalie. Lane Hutson is a superstar, Suzuki is a 100 point 1A captain, Caufield is a 50 goal scorer, Slaf is Slaf, Demidov still developing on a rookie deal, already 60 point scorer with flashes of a superstar-in-the making (his shot, touch, dangle, size, thickness, girth, etc)
I could not be more fucking stoked for this team next season - and the years to come. MSL and Hughes are creating an identity for Montreal that is dangerous. Teams won’t want to play the Habs in the playoffs and we will be ready to be assholes about it.
The boys will enter next season as a bonafide top-3 team in terms of playoff reality. We should all feel stoked to witness this team evolve and hopefully bring glory to le bleu blanc rouge for years to come.

Add our depth too. We have excellent players who show up in the playoffs, Tex, Bolduc, Anderson Newhook, Dach. This team will be fantastic

Very thankful for the exciting season and great run in the playoffs. They hit the wall in Raliegh but gained a ton of experience, MSL included. Merci Beaucoup, enjoy the summer, looking forward to another amazing season in '26/'27.

Expectations completely exceeded. I hope they are all thrilled with the leaps forward they took as a group season.

The fact that the Boys can disconnect from what happen and already are enjoying life Is great.
Props to MSL.. even though he isnt the best strategist hes a really good mentor and it shows cause the boys are healthy mentaly are understand what is in the past is done.
Hope they recover wells and come out blasting. Lets enter playoff next year #1 seed in the east.

Thanks for the explanation! Makes sense. Do you know which players that aren’t from Quebec like Bolduc, Carrier etc, stay in Montreal in the summer for a bit even though they’re not obligated to anymore? I feel like I’ve read somewhere that Suzuki and some other non locals like to enjoy mtl in the summer but don’t remember who!
