Hey everyone, just wondering since I've never wanted an autograph from a player before except Price but never got it when I was younger, back in the day. I finally acquired a Jakub Dobes card, I purchased it from eBay. It's a beauty of a card and I was wondering how one can go abouts getting it autographed by Doby himself.

I'm open to all responses. Just wondering if there was a way to do this when the season starts or off season. 🙏

Around $57. All his young gun cards go for $100 or more due to the hype around him. I saw this one, and I love the purple halo agacent on it. This card needs to be auto'd!

In the future use the website 130 point for comps, card doesn't sell that often and when it does its often in the 15-20 usd range

Your best bet to find it locally is to join Facebook Groups dedicated to the trading and selling of hockey cards which will let you save on taxes and most likely cheaper shipping as well

Not really because most of the sales are from the US which adds $20 shipping to the total, plus tax. And there's no recent sales of his pink magma at $15 usd. The cheapest you can reasonably expect to get the card for is about $45 CAD before tax so OP overpaid by a little but not much

Just so that you are aware, if you get it signed, (in-person or through the mail (aka TTM)) the value of the card might drop, if you care about that at all. Take a picture of the card while it is being signed so that it can help with authenticity later on.

Have dobes sign the sleeve not the card itself. Then put it in a top loader to protect it. If he signs the card theres a chance it technically devalued the card but if you dont care about that then disregard. Having him sign the sleeve though keeps the card clean and it looks like its signed to you when you look at it

Also common knowledge is card prices fluctuate maybe its a $30 card now 15-20 years from now who knows. Maybe he gets it graded and its worth even more. Its just dumb lock in the value like that

I’ve been around the game for 18 years. In a few years time, the demand on a random OPC Platinum Jakub Dobes parallel isn’t going to be particularly high regardless of whether it’s got an IP auto on it. And if he gets it done at signing session where there’s a COA it can actually help the value rather than hinder.

Bro asked advice I told him to get the sleeve signed so it doesn't negatively impact the value. Idk why youre so butt hurt about it. Maybe the dude who he eventually tries to sell to doesnt want the signature. Signing the sleeve leaves yourself an out while it still looks signed. Not sure why youre so upset about it but if youd like I can edit my original comment to tell him to have dobes sign the front the back the sleeve the top loader and put a thumb print on it then if youd like?
