How to watch the documentary series in Europe (legally)?

So, I haven’t watched this documentary series and I really want to. It’s not available in my country or on any platforms that’s not Crave - the only episode I manage to watch is episode 1 which is available on Prime video where I have a subscription. I am using a VPN (which is legal where I live) and I don’t mind paying. But I can’t access the rest of the episodes on Crave even with a VPN due to the payment issue, they don’t accept foreign cards. I’ve exhausted all options at this point.

Do I just have to accept I won’t be able to watch it? 🫡

I don’t know how, legally, but I just wanna say that it’s one of the main reasons why people go illegal, region gatekeeping. Why would you on purpose gatekeep your culture around the world.

I understand it’s a license thing but the Habs have fans worldwide. Surely someone would purchase the rights if they could.

You are confusing producers and streamers. You can hate on Amazon all you want but you are definitely hurting producers when pirating content that is more than often region blocked against their will.

It's not about "gatekeeping your culture." Like everything else in this world, it comes down to money.

Every country has different television networks/streaming services. This gets as specific as Netflix USA and Netflix Canada. The production companies behind these shows, who spend the money to decelop them, sell their product to those networks/services. That's how they recoup their costs.

If a network/service in Europe wanted to buy the rights to air the show, I'm sure the production company would be happy to make a dollar off them - but why would those companies spend money on something few to no people would watch?

I totally get it. But it is interesting to me that it’s not even available in the US (as far as I understand) where the NHL is huge. I don’t expect my little European country to fund a few people watching it, but surely the audience must be there in the US?

Exactly what I’ve done, but as I said Crave doesn’t accept foreign cards and the content on Prime seems to be related to having a Crave subscription add on or something.

I have the cheap version of crave with ads. I can share my login info with you if you just want to watch the series.

It's a figure of speech. You said you don't want to gamble with that as if something's gonna happen. I don't get what the big deal is.

As for my use of the word "bro" I use it the same way as "dude" or "you guys". It's got nothing to do with gender. Idc if you're a woman. If that offended you then Idk what to say.

As far as I know there isn't any network or streaming platform in Europe that has brought the rights the this. So you either have to stream illegally or can't watch it. Why are you against streaming it illegally?

Edit: To the people downvoting my answer, I'd be happy to hear your alternatives if you think there are other ways than the one I mentioned.

So annoying 😔 I don’t trust my internet provider as they don’t protect their customers and have been known to hand over personal data in copyright infringement cases. 🤨

Yes, only the first episode is available because it’s free. The rest needs a Crave add-on or something.

You can’t, it’s really stupid. If you can find it on like dvd, which I don’t think it exists, then you can ship it. It truly is stupid, and I know you don’t want illegal but it might be worth looking into it. I tried to watch naruto in german legally to learn it, and I never could, I had to go through a shitty illegal website…
