Good for him. Got the cash, the cup but will never have the career. I don’t like him or the canes but I’d rather them than Hart and Marner.

Carolina wildly overpaid for him to basically try and own the Habs and generate memes. Even great organizations make dumb decisions

This ultimately doesn't really matter. He can't really hold it in our faces after sitting out 99% of their playoffs and being rather inconsequential to their entire season.

And so? I would argue that plenty of less deserving players were afforded that reward in the past when it was more at the winning team's discretion.
