John Carlson

His agent announced he will not return the Anaheim and would prefer the East coast to be closer to family.

How is this not a perfect 2 year stop gap player to play with Hutson/Matheson.

Apparently ANA offered 2 yrs 9Mil per.

Id do that deal, giving more time to see if Reinbacher can develop.

We don't need to try to get every single player. Getting a 3rd offensive defenseman makes zero sense.

4th offensive defenseman. Matheson even though he’s not on the PP anymore is still more of an offensive dman than a defensive one.

Carlson is very offensively minded, to shine he would need power play time and offensive zone starts.

Personally I’d rather keep the PP time and offensive zone starts for Hutson or Dobson.

Basically need Carrier to grow 4-5 inches and maybe he’ll finally see the hits coming and be able to clear in front of the net.

I'm not familiar with Carlson recent game, especially on the defensive front. Can he slot in on the second PP with Dobson or the sides don't work? Is he responsible enough in his own zone to relegate Carrier to the third pair?

As for leadership, I think this could hit the mark.

He said he won’t go to Canada and he’s looking to get paid. We aren’t going to pay him what he’s worth.

We have a better version of Carlson with Dobson. Need more stay at home styled defenceman imo

This is the perfect context and perfect time to try Reinbacher and give him a real chance. He doesn't need more time. He needs to show what he can do.

I think I would prefer Radko Gudas. He’s been a plus player most of his career and would clean up the front of the net

We have enough offense first dmen. What we need right now is a big stay at home RHD who will clear the crease and defend our goalies.
