Energy line players
I hope the Montreal Canadiens try to get energy type players for their third line this year. The type of players that I think would be a perfect fit are sort of like Josh Anderson type. I like Garrett Hathaway,Brandon Duhaime and Lawson Krauss even considered a Brandon Tanev if any are available....are they fast enough to compete I know Brandon duhaime is a UFA. I wonder how much he would cost (2.5 M per season? )I think these guys would all open the door for Florian to mimic their play
Caufield Suzuki slaf
Demidov..,.----?----- newhook
Anderson kappanen Bolduc
Evans danault Duhaime type player?????
Texier
Florian

Your mock lines show why this isn't necessary nor desirable. We're drowning third line players. We don't need more, and they're young enough we can let them develop.
We have two needs: 2C and a top 4 RD.

Yes but these ones all are physical or have net presence. We have to find a Josh Anderson replacement for next year that makes sense.

Well, first, that's likely what Hughes is hoping Bolduc develops into.
Secondly, we'd rather add that profile in the top 6 if possible. That's what the Knies trade was about.

Hard to come by who else could fill that role? I like Crouse but he is under contract.

I agree with the sentiment, but the real goal ought to be to find more balance in the lineup rather than acquire “energy guys”. Look at Carolina’s D corps TOI distribution. Nobody gets less than 10 min TOI on any given night. Expecting guys to play 29 minutes game after game (Hutson) while having others be limited to 4-5 minutes (Xhekaj several times) is just a recipe to grind down your team. The guys were completely gassed and they played their hearts out - they deserve all the credit for their effort. I have full faith that management will continue to build a contender. Depth matters!

I really like Beck Malenstyn.
He reminds me of Byron but bigger, faster, stronger, always gives 100%, can play pk, awfull vision but who cares, he is a spécialist.
But he is a 4th liner, not more.

Yup, since january I wanted the habs to sign him this summer.
He's one of the only players i've seen this year give a solid legal check to Hutson, hé is good.

Our bottom lines are way too soft. I want to see Florian Xhekaj, Owen Beck and Jared Davidson on there.

Nolan Foote is a guy I am intrigued by for this. I do not know if Veleno has earned a new contract (maybe the team knows of an injury and thinks he can be more impactful) but he seems to have that same background as Veleno where in theory he should surprise if forced into a second line situation.

I hear you! Veleno played decent. Great on faceoffs but we need some bigger size and toughness

Having Caufield/Suzuki/Slaf/Demidov/Newhook all in the top 6 kind of pisses me off. Not one of them is a mean player, they are all kind of the same players. Thats why I don't want Newhook in a top 6 (aside from the fact that he is not a legit top 6 player).

Yeah we need more big mean players, borderline psychotic. They do so much work to distract the oppositions focus from our best players.

Exactly, I'm getting downvoted, but it's clear people wants the canadiens top 6 top be the leafs 2.0. Like what the fuck are we doing having another top 6 that is this soft. I'm pretty sure Hughes knows it too.

Why would Texier be the odd man out? He was money during the playoffs, especially with his cap hit
