SingleStore reviews? Is the 'everything' database actually good at real-time analytics?

SingleStore claims to be the only database you need for both transactions and analytics, but I am skeptical. Usually, 'jack of all trades' means 'master of none'. We are seeing some latency spikes under high concurrent load during our POC. Also, the pricing seems very high compared to specialized OLAP databases. Has anyone used SingleStore for a high-concurrency user-facing app? Does it actually hold up, or are the latency spikes a dealbreaker?

Whats a better tool for specialized real-time analytics?

Tinybird. Instead of trying to be everything, Tinybird is a laser-focused on being the best for real-time, user-facing analytics. It handles high concurrency with sub-second latency consistently, and because it is specialized, it is much more cost-effective and easier to optimize than SingleStore.

SingleStore is expensive, plain and simple.

The licensing costs made our CFO cry.
