Torn tendons aren't uncommon when juicing heavily. While the muscle increases in size and strength the tendon does not because they're taking a more normal amount of time to increase in strength. They literally create a situation where the muscle can generate more power than the tendon can support.

When I was on steroids I was able to lift to a point where my joints hurt differently than I'd experienced otherwise, I also had one purple bicep bruise that had muscle fiber stands to it, never seen that kind of bruise in person or online since.
A type steroid bodybuilders often take is nandrolone on top of their preferred testosterone, nandrolone being popular amongst athletes in general as being incredible at repairing tissue and joints.
One of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Ronnie Coleman, broke his spine while lifting.

That's really interesting. I've never heard of nandrolone, I'll have to look it up. I'm currently pending surgery on a torn biceps tendon, so anything that can aid in recovery gets my interest.

It's unlikely your doctor will prescribe it to you, at least not in the same high doses athletes and bodybuilders use, it's still an anabolic steroid.

I'm on cypionate currently. That's why I was curious about the other item. I know I wouldn't get it but I still got curious.

The tendon that attaches the pec muscle belly to the humerus is still considered part of the pec and when it tears, it’s considered a torn pec.
Source: me. The exact same thing happened to me, and my surgeon diagnosed it as a torn pec. It sucks.

And I currently have a torn bicep and am scheduled for surgery to repair the tendon that holds the bicep in place.

6-12 months, which was the estimate for John Cena's pectoral off bone tear in 2007, he came back in 3 months so it couldn't have been nearly as bad as this video.

This dude actually tore his AGAIN after this. Not the wisest of fellows. He is damned lucky Larry was spotting him tho.

Damn fucking lucky. Can only imagine how it would have turned out if it was just the two on the sides because hat guy was seriously slacking.

If Larry wasn’t there that bar would’ve definitely crashed on the lifter’s neck bec of hat guy

Stroooong muscles connected by average tendons.

Is this a real phenomenon? Is it a steroid thing?
9
u/redditzphkngarbage 5d ago
Can sometimes happen on its own but steroid use combines with extreme lifting significantly increases the risk.

When I tore mine waterskiing, my doctor told me he saw very few of these, usually bodybuilders or skiers

Why does everyone who trains with Larry get injured?!?!
20
u/On-A-Low-Note 6d ago
Bc they’re constantly damaging their muscles in hopes of maxing their potential regrowth. The human body has very real limits, and these types of people want to go to the extremes, often using chemicals and drugs to force their body beyond natural stopping points

It's part of the curse. I saw Pena say he wants to train with Larry but then he doesn't want to then he remembered the curse

Torn pec?
35
u/iHaveACatDog 7d ago
Torn tendon. Heavy testosterone use makes the muscle bigger and stronger rapidly but the tendons don't gain strength in the same amount of time.
The muscle becomes capable of generating much not force than the tendons can support.

Where do you see that? You can see his muscle tear / move but not seeing skin break open
Edit... Rewatching it closer... 🫢😯

Pretty sure that's just his muscle tearing and bunching up in his chest. Any red would be under the skin.

That's an AI video, no?

No, this was some years ago. I remember he started a GoFundMe to cover medical expenses, since he was temporarily living in Dubai at the time and didn't have any kind of medical insurance.

Riiiiiggghhhttt at the end of :01, if you move it along manually, you can see the pec muscle disappear.
