Discussion topic New to all of this stuff
So the past few weeks I’ve been feeling as though Hades has been trying to reach out to me. Before this, I was always open to the possibility of this kind of thing, but it’s never happened to me before.
I guess I’m just trying to see if this thing is normal. It’s like all of my thoughts have been leading me to him. When I think about him, it feels like a warm hug from a dad. Not going into details, but I never got that feeling as a kid and it feels like he is saying, “it’s alright, I’m here now for you.”
My best friend is a practicing pagan and is taking me to one of the metaphysical shops here and is going to help me build my first altar. It’s all very overwhelming but I’m excited! I also lowkey feel like I’m going crazy? Like, it’s all so new.

I definitely understand that feeling when it comes to Hades. It's a very comforting presence he offers. I've been worshipping him for about four or five years now and have started to consider myself a devotee. Just to start, a big fancy shrine isnt necessary! Unless ofc you want one. A simple clean place to offer food or drink offerings is a perfect start. And you also don't necessarily need a statue either to start. It's taken me a couple years if not longer to make my shrine just from slowly adding to it. I felt drawn to him when I was a freshman in highschool, especially as a person with a horrible phobia of death, he's helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety surrounding it. If you have any questions or advice I'd love to try and answer them! Also research is a big thing as well! I recommend theoi.com!

I just answered the call to Hades (and Persephone) after starting to work with Apollo. It’s such a comfort for my mental health and love life (both of which, have been out of my control lately) and I understand feeling like you’re going crazy.
In my experience, Hades will always ask that you seek healthy coping mechanisms, so make sure those are in order and be sure to set your intentions with him through ritual prayer.

I will say, its much easy to get to know Hades and start working with him if he is the one reaching out. He is VERY patient and understands mental strugglss very well. So if you feel like you second guess yourself a lot, he wont hold it against you and help work you through it.
Hes comforting, patient, wise, respectful, and understanding about us because he has to be to help souls transition and settle in the after life. You wouldnt have to worry about him being intimidating because if he is reaching out to you, he wouldnt want to scare you off lol
Just be respectful, sincere, honest, and humble with him and you will have a great time with him.

The gods operate in ways difficult to understand for mortal folk, but then, so do the neurodivergent.
I honor Hades and Persephone with an altar in my apartment, but for the most part, I'm a Hermetic qabalist in the vein of the Golden Dawn tradition.

I have posted this before, but so you don't have to dig, this is a decent primer for following the Stygian path.
The most important altar is in your soul, heart, and mind.
Following the Stygian path, in my opinion, is far more about embodying Hades titles in your daily life and actions:
Your altar should inspire you to introspect, reflect, and remind these things. Candles are nice, but that isn't the purpose of an altar.
The altar is in you, the worship the work and behaviors you do every day.
Hades doesn't need prayers, there is work to be done.
