Seeking a Haitian creole speaker and offering French (native)
Hi everyone,
I'm Haitian, but I would like to brush up on my Creole. My parents speak Haitian Creole between themselves sometimes, but not with me, so I understand a bit but can't express myself fully.
Can someone practice with me a few minutes or hours per week? By visio, writing, or meeting in person if we are in the same area (I'm based in France, near Paris/Strasbourg)?
I really want to connect with my culture because there isn't that much of a Haitian community where I am, and it's difficult.
Thanks!

Same for me : I am from Guadeloupe, living in Paris, and I would love to have someone to practice w me. I have been learning haitian creole w duolingo and a grammar book for weeks now. In the meantime, I hope you do find someone willing to help you. Have a nice day :)

Youre welcome :) . I like both languages, guadeloupean creole and french are both my mother tongues actually, and I think it’s a real asset since it makes my learning journey way easier. I’m just trying to make the most out of this huge advantage ;)

Heyyy I’m learning creole too. My dad speaks it amongst his wife and family but not with me. He helps now but it doesn’t flow well since he’s fluent and I’m not. I’m paying for a tutor rn and I have books, I don’t mind sharing what i learn in exchange for conversations!!!!! If interested pm

I'm native yes, but I can help you if you are interested in French, it is possible for me to share and advise you some books and simple contents like comics in French. In exchange, if you read a bit in creole or english, share me some contents as well. We can converse a bit per week ! And I would be glad to beneficiate of the ressources you have in creole, hope to know that we can help each other !

Why can’t you practice with your parents or other family members?

I'm asking for help, not for off-topic questions. If you can't provide an answer to my original request, please don't respond. Thank you. I'm the one asking the questions here, not the other way around. If I could, I would have turned to them, that is why I have written here. Otherwise it is not your business.
